Up for Adoption: Meet Franklin! A 4 yr old mix who is looking for a forever home ♡ He's sweet, loving and can settle with you on rainy days, run around on errands, or play at the beach! He heels, downs, stays, and comes, on command, He crates, and is potty trained. He travels great in the car and is extremely well mannered in public places such as restaurants and malls or going to pet stores. However.. Mr. Franklin does come with some baggage. I met Franklin aprox. 8mo ago, and recommended a board and train, which the owners declined. The reason I told them that was because he was spoiled rotten with no rules and had complete freedom. He became the ruler of the house and anyone in it! Therefore if he didn't want to be petted he would growl and if pushed farther he would bite! If he was eating food, he would possess it. He wasn't good around other dogs and wasn't enjoyable to walk. I explained it wasn't IF he was going to bite, it was just a matter WHEN. So aprox. 4 months after the assessment that's exactly what he did to their 2 yr old son.
The owners felt extremely sad and guilty but they knew Franklin's behavioral issues could no longer be tolerated and they didn't feel safe with him in their home. So they paid for a board and train knowing I could fix the problem and reach out to someone who would not only love Franklin, but be a leader and give rules and boundaries so he would always know his place in the pack. A FOLLOWER NOT A LEADER!
So that is why I am reaching out to someone who can be a good fit for Franklin.
