Hayden Acres is one of the *only* barns around that offers lessons for ages 3 and up. Think your tiny tot is too young to start? Check out Kayleigh, one of our lesson riders. She is a fresh threenager that loved her lessons on our Appaloosa pony Bailey, but was still fearful of larger horses. We worked with her on confidence building, slow and steady. Listen to her name the different equipment! At this age, kids can start to really retain information, work on balance, and work up to different skills.
30 minute lessons are just $45 and recommended for riders 6 and under. Send us a message to schedule today!
Looking for youth riding lessons? We have expanded our availability!

We had SUCH a great response to our request for help with naming baby girl donkey! In fact, we had so many suggestions, we had to ask Pickles for help. As you can see, he is more than happy to assist 😂
Check out our story here on Facebook and on Instagram for the top 4 names. There are 2 polls back to back, we can’t put the pressure all on poor Pickles, please go vote!
Ok everyone, bring your kids over, turn on your creativity, and help us out. Baby girl donkey has a loving mama, a helpful bonus dad, and a nice big home. Now, she needs a name! Head over to our stories and send in your suggestions.
If we pick yours, you get $20 off of a 1 hour lesson, or $10 off a 30 minute lesson! Poll will be open for 24 hours and winner will be announced on Saturday!
We have exciting news to share, and your help is needed! Follow along in our stories here, and on Instagram, for the FULL details.
To start, we want to introduce you all to Pickles the donkey. Donkeys are herd animals, much like horses, and prefer to be with others. Their large ears can hear another donkey call from nearly 60 miles away and are used as a way for the donkey to keep cool in hot climates. Their reputation for being stubborn, is actually due to strong self preservation instincts.
Pickles is a little bit upset about the rising cost of hay lately, and asked to take over negotiations for the next bulk purchase. It did not go as well as he planned, but we give him an A for effort.

Our camp kids had a BLAST using their hands to turn Woody into a real “paint”. He tolerated it, despite what the sound clip implies 😉
*Disclaimer* the kids used non toxic paint, and gently pet this sweet boy while learning about different kinds of horses. During camp, they have learned all about caring for horses and just like with humans, that includes bath time! Woody loves the extra attention, and the extra treats. He also thoroughly enjoyed his bath and grooming after this activity. Using paint is a great way to engage younger horse lovers and teach them about safe places to pet these animals. ❤️
Do you know the difference between a Paint and a Bay horse? Or a Paint and an Appaloosa? We have horses that fit each category! Comment below to show off your equine education and see if you can get the right answers 👇👇
When the kids at camp realize it isn’t just pony rides and snack time…
Everyone was honestly such a good sport this week! Mucking stalls, carrying hay, and getting dirty is all part of the fun. Our campers are learning that behind the scenes, things are not as easy as they may seem. We appreciate the extra hands, and the animals are soaking up the abundance of attention.🥰🥰🥰
This week, we have had the pleasure of hosting an Introduction to Farm life camp for kids! With 2 days left, we have already made some incredible memories. Our camp focuses on the details that go in to running a busy farm, mixed with the rewarding and fun adventures that come with the crazy. Campers aged 3+ are learning how to care for a variety of animals, the basics of horseback riding, and all of the silly things our four legged friends like to do.
Look out for more fun videos that highlight everything we’ve been up to!
Don’t want to miss out on the next camp for kids? Follow us and watch for future announcements including a breathwork class with horses, camp for all ages, lesson availability, and more! Hayden Acres has big plans for our community, and we can’t wait for what comes next.
