She is still taking it easy until heartworms are treated, but she can’t wait to have someone to run, play and learn with!!

She is dog selective, but loves kids. No cats for Nala.
She is medium size, and between 2-4 yrs old.

It’s that time of year again! 🦃

Every year, we provide our dogs and cats with a Thanksgiving feast since they don’t have a family to spend Thanksgiving with yet.

We are just asking for donations of a few Foodlion giftcards so that we can buy the food for the animals. You can deliver them to us during open hours or send them to us at 42 Deep River Rd Sanford, NC 27330 🧡

The most deserving old lady was adopted tonight!! We are so beyond happy for her!! She will get to rest easy on a comfy bed tonight…..as it should be!

Update: our little ghost girl passed. We thank anyone who donated towards her care - her vet visit is now paid in full. We really can’t thank you enough. This girl tested negative for parvo, so we suspect a different illness that her little body could not overcome. Thankfully she was surrounded by kind vet staff and her wonderful foster mommy. Rest peacefully little girl. Your tiny life mattered to us. Until we see you again 🌈

She’s on her way to the vet as an emergency. She has been fighting to stay healthy and isn’t doing well. Her foster mom has been trying so hard with her.

If you can donate towards her care we would be so appreciative. We aren’t sure what the outcome will be but we know she is getting diagnostics done.

Charlie Brown got his haircut, and is now pain free!! We are so relieved for him 🖤 he needed to be sedated while it was done due to his uncomfortability with all the matting. But now all is well 😇 huge thanks to All Animals Veterinary Hospital for taking care of him!

This dude is between 2-4 yrs old, and a sweetheart.

When his hair grows back he is going to look even more stunning! 🥰

We think he will do well with kids, but has not yet been thoroughly dog or cat tested.

We do know he likes to sit politely and stare into your eyes …. He loves toys, and rolling around in anything he can find outside 😅 - he’s great!

Boykin or cocker spaniel or maybe a mix, who knows?

Maggie got some much needed snuggles today. She is down in the dumps but we are trying our best to keep her spirits high….until someone amazing finds her.

Maggie is a calm, and quiet girl. 1 year old. Dog and child friendly. Prefers stay at home human or committed human who will work through separation anxiety (which only occurs after she’s alone for more than 5/6 hours) !!

We are still in desperate need of an adopter or new foster home for Brody! He is being returned to the rescue and he would not do well in a kennel setting. He will be extremely stressed and shut down. 😢

Brody is no longer a fit for his current home due to not being a good fit with super young children.

Brody needs a home with no other animals.

He is such a good boy who loves to cuddle, play, and spend time outside. He is a very loyal and loving companion. We know that his family is out there! Please share this post so we can find them! 🖤

The Cookie pups were just informed that they will be attending puppy yoga on December 1st and they are extremely excited!! 🎉 Will they see you there? 🍪

Meet Hamtara 🐹 she is perfect in every way! The sweetest little hamster!

She was dumped on a Good Samaritan in a box. Her mother was out of the picture for one reason or another.

Thankfully she is taking well to syringe feeding! Thriving and surviving! 🍼

*if you’ve ever encounter abandoned kittens under 6 weeks old, their best chance at survival is keeping them with mom! Never separate these babies, unless it is evident that mother is not feeding or caring for them!!*

In more positive news 😌 Emmy met several little humans today and he did so well with them!! 🥹 We would have never assumed so, with his background and all …..

He has always been generally fearful of life….but he felt so at ease with these kids!

It is SOOOO nice to see him making such huge changes in comparison to his first day at the rescue!!

Emmy is still looking for a home … he is dog + child + cat friendly / crate trained / great on leash and an overall amazing pup!!

This is Maggie. She was adopted in April of 2023. She was the cutest little butterball munchkin. Her name was Coco. We were so smitten with her.

Maggie was returned to us today because she is anxious when her owners leave the home for more than 6 hours a day. She has been noted to do well for 5-6 hours, about 4 times a week with no issue at all.

Due to her owners working longer hours than that, they returned her. She had been pottying in her crate and had some destructive tendencies. They feel she needs someone who is home all the time.

Maggie is now searching for a home who will work through her anxious behavior (when humans are gone, as it was only then that she had any issue at all) - we think that she could adapt very well to someone with a hybrid schedule - and someone willing to hire a trainer to help work through things as needed.

Life at the rescue will not be easy for her, as she is now away from her family.

Maggie is dog and child friendly. She prefers easy going dogs. She walks well on leash and knows all basic commands.

Maggie is shy but the biggest SNUGGLE BUG....just give her some time.

She really is a great dog....

We hate to see puppies returned as adults, but we understand that life happens and not everyone has the same ability or understanding to work through common behavioral issues such as separation anxiety.

(We are posting this video of sweet Mag to hopefully emphasize how desperately she will be needing a home. She is stressed out in this environment)
