We don’t have a chance to go to Raleigh often, but this month it is happening! The shop will be at Raleigh Summer Dressage on July 27-28.
Please note our AC unit in the trailer has kicked the bucket and our favorite repair guy is booked through August. For trying on things like breeches it will be fine to take them into the air conditioned bathrooms in the coliseum. Unless you want to struggle pulling breeches up sweaty legs, in which case that’s fine but we might giggle a little 😉

We'd like to break our social media hiatus momentarily to encourage all competitors at events around the country this weekend to join us in observing a moment of silence in honor of Georgie Campbell and all other riders we have lost along the way.

All events running in the U.S. this weekend have been invited by USEA CEO Rob Burk to join British Eventing in solidarity with a silence at 12 pm on Saturday (6/1) in whatever time zone they are in.

In the words of Georgie's loving husband, Jesse, "when you’re out competing this weekend, please just smile at each other, don’t feel awkward about laughing, and above all, try and love everything and everyone."

Hello All!

Ovation Farm in Sanford, NC will be hosting Megan Malan again on June 1st for a Working Equitation Clinic.

Megan Malan is a Tryon, NC-based Working Equitation and dressage instructor. She welcomes riders age 10 and up in any tack (dressage, jumping, western, bitless, gaited, etc!) to practice working equitation obstacles. Working Equitation is a fast-growing international sport showcasing 3 phases -- dressage, ease of handling with obstacles, and speed with obstacles.

Auditors are welcome- it is $20 for the whole day including lunch! Please fill out the form below as well so we can plan ahead.

There is a link below to a google form to apply for the clinic, you MUST use the form to sign up. Entries close May 20th. There will be a max ride number, the schedule will be out May 27th. The google form is not confirmation for your ride in the clinic. If the rides fill out there is an option to be added to a wait list in case of openings.

If you are signing up with someone else riding your horse, please fill the riders name in for the name option for scheduling purposes.

🩸 Vasodilation allows for an increase in oxygen and nutrient delivery within the body, allowing for greater energy production for the muscles.

🩸 Vasodilation also helps improve the removal of catabolic waste products from the muscles like lactic acid and ammonia that contribute to muscle fatigue and failure.

🩸 Vasodilation is most beneficial to athletes (horses) that require aerobic endurance and who produce a lot of lactic acid.

Encore Sporthorse has an opening for a full or partial training client.

We offer dressage training through FEI and basic ground work and young horse development.

Our facilities include a large outdoor lighted arena, covered arena, complimentary use of a Theraplate, Bemer blanket therapy, regular appointments for chiropractic and massage therapy.

We have regular clinics with natural horsemanship trainer Jan Leitschuh, working equitation clinician Megan Malan and FEI 5* judge Linda Zang.

🌟 Live in Working Student Position Coming Available🌟

Encore Sporthorse, Inc. is in Sanford NC. Gold medalist Susan Wiedman is head trainer.

Our lovely summer working student is sadly heading back to school mid-july.

We are looking for a hard working, motivated individual wanting to further their knowledge to be part of an awesome team. Must be 18+ Duties include being part of a team feeding and turning in/out 20-25 horses, grooming, tacking up, cleaning tack, daily cleaning of barns and water troughs, keeping things organized and running smoothly, holding for vets/farriers/chiropractors. Riding lessons and opportunities based on skill set and comfortability. Multiple clinicians come on site. Living quarters, board for one horse and weekly stipend!

This is good info on things you should do during a disease outbreak. I would add to have no shared water troughs/buckets. Don't let your horse drink out of community water sources, especially when you are away from your barn.

Our rider Susie Wiedman of Encore Sporthorse, Inc. took everyone’s favorite taco pony Encanto, owned by Pam Winters, out at CHP this weekend for super rides! While the first and second place finishes are great, my favorite thing about Susie is that after Encanto nails the counter canter he immediately received a quick release and pat on the neck. I love seeing riders encouraging their horses in the arena ❤️

We are very sad to announce that Boris (the world’s best barn cat, fun police, critic and artist) has moved on to the next world where I am sure he will be very much in charge of soon.

Boris lived to the ripe old age 14? Maybe 15 but who’s counting? It was the quality of his life and his dedication to good snacks, good naps and offering constructive criticism to all that will be remembered.

And his most important job which he took most seriously until the end, manager of hand grazing operations. He has done a fine job training up the next generation but no cat can ever fill those paws. RIP Boris. We miss you and love you.
