It has been a quiet but productive weekend in the shop 😉

Shop time - it’s when I turn on my praise music (right now listening to anything with Chandler Moore and Phil Wickam), sing, talk to God and thank him for the many opportunities he has given me.

This past week, our area was hit by a tornado and several lost their homes. Another family has faced a tragedy with their little boy and have had to make some very difficult decisions. Another friend lost his wife this past week to cancer at the young age of 40. These people have been the focus of my talks to God this week. I don’t know why he allows things to happen, but I do believe that beautiful things can come from great pain. Please keep these folks in your thoughts and prayers.

Shop time is when I pray. It’s also when I prioritize and organize. Right now, I’m working on some awards and prepping for the NLBRA Finals and NBHA World shows. My goal is to have at least 40 inventory reins at each show. So, I’m working on those. I’m also bringing in some ready to ship items - check out our new SmarTack saddle pads and our new Buckstitched Reins and Headstalls - sooo pretty! So, my shop is where I focus and prioritize action steps.

Finally, my shop is where I catch up with friends and family. I will call and chat with my sister, my daughter or touch base with friends.

So, you can probably tell, but shop time is important to me. It’s my spot. My time. My creative space and my quiet comfort.

What do you do to center yourself and get that quiet time? What’s your “me time”? And if anyone wants to come hang out in my shop, coffee is on ☕️

I started Rockstar Reins with an investment of $40; yep that’s it - $40.00 at my kitchen table, not knowing a dang thing about what I was doing. Little did I know, what this business would become.

Here is my unsolicited advice….
1) you don’t like your current financial situation, get you a side hustle.
2) don’t spend forever “thinking” about side hustles; actually do it.
3) results come from action not dreams.
4) it won’t be BIG at first, but if you keep with it, believe in yourself and your potential, it can become whatever you make it.
5) the only thing standing in your way is you.

Pinkies out 🤙

Whether it’s barrel racing, dressage, show jumping, or trail riding, we see a lot of riders with “pinkies out.” Why????

I learned that it encourages a lighter touch on the reins, promoting better communication with the horse through seat and leg cues. Additionally, it helps maintain a more relaxed upper body posture, which is crucial for staying centered and balanced.
