It's hard to leave your pets at home when you have errands to run, but being separated could cause your pet to become overly anxious. It's important to be aware of separation anxiety to help your pet overcome it.

Make sure to schedule an appointment with your VCA veterinarian to discuss how to handle your pet's separation anxiety.

Aging cats are prone to a number of diseases, but the three most common are chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes mellitus, and hyperthyroidism.

These conditions can be difficult to distinguish clinically because all three tend to cause weight loss, increased thirst/urination, and a generally unkempt appearance. Blood tests and urinalysis are often required to determine the cause of a cat’s illness and formulate an effective treatment plan.
