🐾 Sunday Smiles Incoming! 🐾
Let’s end the week with some paw-perfect cuteness 💛

Some of our adoptable dogs have had the best time on their Doggy Day Out adventures with our amazing volunteers recently — sniffing trails, soaking up sunshine, cruising in style, and stealing hearts along the way. 🐶💕

These outings give our pups a much-needed break from the shelter and help them show off their sweet, silly, lovable personalities outside their kennels!

🚨 Pupdate Alert! 🚨

Remember Nala? The goofy ball-obsessed girl with the heart of gold? Well… she’s living her best life now as MAYA, and let's just say - our girl has leveled up. 💅🐾

According to her new humans:

✅ She’s training to be a Service Dog Extraordinaire
✅ She nails commands like "heel, stay, sit, down" AND "no kisses" (we’re honestly impressed by that one)
✅ She's attended BBQs, banks, diners, grocery stores, beaches, dog parks, fancy restaurants (yes, Maya is now fine dining)
✅ She’s gone from dog beach bum to protest marcher to camper van adventurer 🐶🌊✊🚐
✅ And she’s officially retired from her ball-chasing, nippy-hyper phase (RIP to her tennis ball addiction 🎾💀)

From tummy troubles to tummy rubs, Maya’s found her forever fam and we couldn't be happier. 💖

Here's a little summary from her adopters: "Maya, formally known as Nala, is absolutely fantastic! We are working toward full Service Dog certification in fact. We've actually been asked to leave her with neighbors, family and friends because she's so good ;). We are soo incredibly lucky to have found our new family member! Thank you for doing what you all do for the furbabies!"

Fireworks can be fun for humans but scary for pets — keep your furry friends safe with these quick tips:

🐾 Keep pets cozy indoors (you can use calming music or white noise to help mask fireworks)
🐾 Double-check ID tags & microchips
🐾 Avoid fireworks and party food

💡 Plan ahead to keep tails wagging and whiskers calm!

Ever wonder what it’s like to take a husky on a mini-vacation? 🐾

Meet Nalu, our 3-year-old adventure enthusiast who recently participated in our Doggy Day Out program! He spent the day exploring the beautiful hiking trails at - and yes, he rode in the car like a polite little gentleman (we’re talking full upright, paws crossed, backseat CEO behavior). 🚗👔

Our Doggy Day Out program lets you take a shelter pup like Nalu out for a day of fun, fresh air, and feel-good bonding. Whether it’s a hike, a park stroll, or a Starbucks pup cup run, it’s a great way to help dogs decompress, socialize, and show off their true personalities outside the shelter.

Bonus: You get a new hiking buddy and a lot of floofy husky side-eye.

🐾✨ Happy Tails: Sprinkles is Sprinkling Joy Everywhere! ✨🐾

Sweet Sprinkles was adopted a few months ago, and she’s already made herself right at home - and then some! 💛

Her new family says: "Sprinkles is loving her new home and gets along great with our dogs as well as all other dogs/people she meets. She is a regular at the park and we've taken her camping and on several river/lake adventures. We even got to bring her with us on a river rafting excursion through some rapids! We already have tons of great photos making it difficult to pick only a few to fit in an email."

From rafting rapids to making new friends, Sprinkles is living her dream life -sprinkling charm and tail wags wherever she goes. 🐶💦⛺
