It's and with all the rain in the forecast, Fawn is feeling the TGIF from her sherpa pocket.

This 4ish year old Dachshund mix gets high scores from her foster fam -- read all the wonderful things they have to say about her...

"Fawn is a delightful dog. She is at the perfect age, past the puppy phase but young enough to still be goofy and play. She is a very low maintenance dog. She is happy to go for a nice stroll and then nap next to you. She gets along great with other dogs. She did great meeting our family on Christmas and seemed to really enjoy getting to know new people (especially if they came with treats). She is very treat motivated which makes training her much easier. She is a quick learner in terms of what is and is not allowed in our home. She has a wonderful personality, full of love and goofiness. She would be a terrific addition to any home."

Does this sweet little Fawn sound perfect for you? Let us know by giving us a call or filling out our online Adopter's Profile! 🐾

This is Westley. Trips to the harbor make him smile. 😁

This beautiful and super sweet 1-year-old Husky went on an outing around town and then spent a little time at home with a volunteer recently. And here were some things from his report card!

- He rode nicely in the car.
- Was well-mannered in the house, a little uncomfy on laminate floors, but found a rug and took a nap.
-Enjoyed being brushed.
-Didn't react to a cat meowing loudly in another room.
-Isn't bothered by a lot of human activity around him.
-Really wants to go meet other dogs in an overly excited way and needs a littttttle work on leash manners in that department.

We'd say that's a pretty good report card for our Westley boy! Here at the shelter, he LOVES to play with other dogs in play group and would probably love to go to a home with another dog close to his size (50~pounds) who wants to play!

This boy is open for visits so come on by during our Browsing Hours and ask for Westley! 🐾

It's and Carlos is really enjoying his in-home entertainment.

This 9-month-old kiddo loves chasing wand toys and peacock feathers and regularly participates in intense spells of bird and squirrel watching. He's also a BIG fan of cat TV!

While Carlos is a more shy and reserved boy, he will initiate a good amount of "pet me" time when he's comfy with you. He loves a good daily routine where he can roam around the house, nap in his cat tree, graze his food, and window-watch at-will.

If you've got a lot of love to give and are the patient and non-pushy sort, this kitty could be perfect for you! He prefers a quiet home and may like a cat friend with the right intro.

Because Carlos is in foster, please give us a call or fill out an Adopter's Profile to learn more! 🐱

It's ! We don't have any pies to show you, but here are two very round cats that need a home.

Joey and Rocky are a bonded pair of 6-year-old brothers who were surrendered after their owner passed away. They are BIG boys (about 15 smackers apiece) and enjoy hanging with each other and their people. Rocky loves toys of all kinds, using his vertical scratchers, and napping in sun spots or baskets/boxes. Joey is a bit more calm and reserved, choosing to chill in a comfy spot most of the time and get little bits of attention here and there.

While they've only lived in a home with each other's feline company, they were brought up with a dog and could probably adjust to living with another.

Who is looking for for a two-fer? Adopt one, get the other's fee waived! Come visit Rocky and Joey during our Browsing Hours (Wed - Sun) from 11-5pm. πŸ–€πŸ€

This is Tarzan. Raised in the concrete jungle, but recently re-located!

This sweet 1-year-old Pointer mix is one of our new arrivals from LA. He is all set to find that forever. He sees the world through the eyes of a innocent puppy -- and everything is just fun and exciting. Now that he's finally out of the city and can't wait to explore the beaches, mountains, and open land in our area.

Tarzan is full grown at 33 pounds, a nice medium-sized boy. He's been great with everyone he meets, including kiddos and other dogs. And because he's got such a unique look, you'll be stopped everywhere you go by people and their compliments.

Come meet this beautiful boy during Browsing Hours today through Sunday (11-5pm)!

Packed up last night to get on the road bright and early this morning!

Members of our team are headed down to assist the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control by pulling dogs and cats from their care centers to make room for the displaced animals coming to them from fire areas.

It's been incredibly heartwarming to see so many California shelters (and beyond!) stepping up to the plate. We can do this together!

*Please note: Any animal we bring home was in their care before the fires broke out.

This is Tito. Believed he could fly, so he did.

Look at us, adopting out flying dogs. How quirky! Tito is a 2-year-old Terrier (or Schnauzer) mix of sorts. He's got wiry curls, little pointy ears, a snaggle tooth, and an airborne propensity. He's also incredibly sweet, affectionate, and fun.

Tito was found stray in the Monterey area and made his way to Santa Cruz after his stray hold was up. His history is a bit of a mystery and we are getting to know more about him, day by day. He walks nicely on-leash and seems to get along well with the other dogs he's met while at the shelter.

Come on in and meet Tito during Browsing Hours (Wed - Sun from 11-5pm). πŸ₯°

Korra's POV: When you appear as a cat shaped void in photos but you're actually a fricken rainbow on the inside.

It's , and Korra's just window-sill watching and wishing. This 3 1/2-year-old boy has been waiting for a home since May of last year!

His foster says: "He's very inquisitive and leaves no cupboard, drawer, or closet unexplored. He is like a puppy who follows you and lays at your feet or wants to be on the bed with you at night. He likes a lot of attention and will let you know you are ignoring him by climbing on you, head butting or licking your face, or giving you a leg nibble. He likes to run up and down my long hallway and chase toys. He takes frequent naps on my lap or in his carrier."

Doesn't he sound fun? Give us a call or fill out an Adopter's Profile online to learn more! 🐱

This is Brynn (short haired female) and Montalvi (medium hair male). A 2-year-old brother/sister duo in need of a little understanding -- and a home.

They've been house hopping quite a bit, having been given to someone, who gave them to someone, who surrendered them. And now they're in a foster home. That's a lot of moving! We hope to facilitate one. Last. Move.

Brynn is the more outgoing one, who will test out your lap and begin baking biscuits with gusto. She also enjoys having her face and mouth rubbed and is known to drool when she's comfy.

Montalvi is more the "lounge around in line of site but has a no contact rule for a while" type of cat. Treats are his weakness and you can gain some ground with them, but he's a boy that just prefers to be the observer and opts out of all the heavy petting and "touchy" stuff.

We are looking for these kitties to find a home together with a true cat person who will respect and enjoy their unique personalities. And because they are adults, they qualify for our Home for The Holidays - Name Your Own Adoption Fee special!

Both of these kitties are in foster, so if you're interested, give us a call!
