🐾 Meet Mac! 🐾

Mac is a young, McNab herding dog mix, just over a year old (50lbs), full of energy, and ready to find his forever home!

We believe Mac is a McNab, which means he’s smart, active, and needs a LOT of daily exercise—more than just a couple of walks around the block or hanging out in the yard. He thrives when he has mental stimulation, consistent training, and plenty of activity to keep him happy.

This guy will do best with adopters who understand herding breeds and are committed to giving him the exercise, training, and engagement he needs. In return, Mac will be a loyal, fun-loving, and energetic companion!

🐾 Amazing News from Our SPCA Family! 🐾

You know those beautiful photos of our adoptable dogs you see every week? They're taken by our incredible volunteer Rebecca Hall, who comes in every Monday to photograph our new arrivals.

Well, guess what? Rebecca Hall (FB: Becky Hall) just won a BRONZE AWARD at the 2025 Paris Photography Awards for her stunning portrait of Tundra, one of our pups! Her photo was even displayed at a gallery in Paris! 🇫🇷✨

Here's the really inspiring part - Rebecca only started photography in 2022, and she's already racking up international awards. As someone living with cancer, she found that photography and spending time with animals became a source of healing and hope.

"Now I have something to focus on when I'm struggling. I can lose myself in beauty and life," Rebecca says. And wow, can we feel that love and patience in every photo she takes of our animals!

Thank you, Rebecca, for your dedication, your artistry, and for helping our shelter pets show their best selves to potential adopters. You're making a real difference! 💕📸

Flow is a handsome orange tabby, about 1 year and 7 months old, with a gentle heart and a very sincere love for mouse toys.

He was primarily an indoor cat in his previous home, did well living with a small dog, and has been around children—handling it all with quiet grace. Flow can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a moment and he’ll warm up, showing off his playful side and sweet personality.

Flow would make a wonderful companion for someone patient and loving who understands that good things (and good cats) take a little time to bloom.

4 Happy Tails and a Whole Lot of Love!

It was a short week, and our Home for the Holidays has officially come to an end—but it was a meaningful one! This week, 4 incredible animals packed up their bags and headed home with their new families. Every adoption opens the door for another pet in need, and we’re so grateful to everyone who opened their hearts and homes. Thank you for choosing adoption and spreading the love. 🐾💛

🌞 Sunday Funday with Harper! 🐾

Harper had a Sunday Funday of her own with one of our volunteers and absolutely nailed it! This 10.5-month-old shepherd mix is available for adoption, and her recent outing showed just how great she can be outside the shelter.

✨ Harper Highlights:

-Did great riding in the car
-Playful interest in meeting other dogs
-No reactive behavior toward people or children
-Sweet, curious, and eager to engage
-A little jumpy at first (those treat smells were tempting!), but once treats were moved, the behavior stopped—she’s learning fast!

Harper is spayed and has had some vaccines, and she’s ready to keep learning and have fun with a family of her own. If you’re looking for a young, friendly pup who’s off to a fabulous start, Harper might be your girl.

It's that time of the week...Happy Tails 🐾

On a cold, rainy day, there’s nothing better than a cozy Happy Tails update to warm your heart 💛...and Azula & Momo are doing just that!

These adorable kitten siblings have completely stolen the show in their forever home. They’re endlessly entertaining, impossibly cute, and guaranteed to make you smile just by looking at them. It’s hard to believe how much they’ve grown in such a short time!

Azula & Momo are playful little rascals who even took on the Christmas tree a few times 🎄😸—proof of their curious, energetic spirits. Full of fun, mischief, and love, they’ve clearly made themselves right at home.

Thank you to their adopters for sharing this sweet update and photos. Stories like Azula & Momo’s make even the chilliest, rainiest days feel extra warm. Happy New Year! ✨🐾

✨ FOSTER FRIDAY: ROOSTER (again!)✨

Rooster has been in our care (for the second time) for almost a year, and while that breaks our hearts, it’s also given us the chance to truly know who he is — a sweet, goofy, sensitive boy who just needs the right home to thrive.

He’s been doing wonderfully in his current foster home and making steady progress. Out and about, Rooster is full of joy — greeting old shelter friends with happy dances and enthusiasm, walking mostly on a loose leash, and recovering from excitement much faster than before. He does well with dogs of all sizes and is learning polite greetings on walks, trails, and beach outings (even if squirrels still tempt him 😆).

At home, Rooster is an absolute dream: fully housebroken, trustworthy when left alone, cuddly, calm, and a champion sunbather. He settles quickly with visitors, takes treats gently, takes medication easily, and loves nothing more than being close to his people.

Rooster can be shy with new folks and does best with slow, respectful introductions — but once he trusts you, he’s all heart.

💛 Rooster is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue his training and celebrate his progress. In return, he’ll give loyalty, laughter, and endless companionship.

Rooster has been waiting long enough. Let’s help him find the home that finally sticks. 🐓✨
