Have a car, truck, motorcycle, or even a boat you don’t use anymore? Running or not — it can still make a difference!

When you donate your vehicle to the Santa Cruz SPCA, we’ll handle the towing at no cost to you. You’ll receive a tax deduction of at least $500 and a receipt for your records.

Your old vehicle becomes bowls of food, soft bedding, vaccinations, and the daily care that gives animals a second chance. ❤️

Meet Kevin, a 1-year-old kitty with a sad little face and a big personality! He arrived with a group of friends—who’ve all been adopted—and now he’s ready to find his forever home.

A little bookworm at heart, Kevin loves to lounge in bookshelves (and maybe knock over a knick-knack or two 😅). He’d do best in a home where he can settle in at his own pace, with plenty of scratching posts to keep him entertained.

Across the country, 15,643 furry friends packed their tiny suitcases and moved into forever homes — and 34 of them strutted out of our shelter! 😎🐾

Goldie is a ~6-year-old, 14-pound maybe-Chihuahua-Pug mix. He came to us from our friends at Hollister Police Animal Care & Services and has been winning hearts and shining his light ever since.

Even at a distinguished age, Goldie still has a surprising amount of pep packed into that small frame and enjoys walks, sunshine, and casual bouts of enthusiasm.

He's gotten along well with other dogs, warms up quickly to humans of all sizes, and has an easygoing charm that grows on you fast. If you appreciate the quiet kind of companion who occasionally bursts into joyful zoomies, Goldie might be your guy.

Our Empty the Shelter event wrapped up on October 15, and we’re thrilled to share that 34 animals found their forever homes between October 1–15! While the event may be over, adoptions are still going strong — come meet your new best friend! 🐾💙

✨It's Happy Tails Time!✨

Our sweet Kiki—now going by the stellar name Andromeda (Andi for short!)—has officially found her galaxy of love! 🌌 Her family says she’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly, spending her days bird-watching from her window shelves, playing with her turquoise scarf, and soaking up lap time.

We’re so happy this cosmic kitty has completed her forever family! 💫❤️

🐾✨ Foster Friday Feature: Leilani! ✨🐾

Meet Leilani (aka Lulu) — our pocket-sized pitbull powerhouse who’s been hanging out in foster care proving she’s basically perfect… and somehow still single?? 🤨

Lulu’s 2.5 years old, 30 lbs of wiggles, and a certified good girl™. Her foster says she’s amazing — house-trained, crate-trained, super smart, chill at home, and walks like a pro. Oh, and plot twist: she’s terrified of cats. 🐈💀 (Yes, the “tough” pitbull crouched and whimpered at a cat who didn’t even blink. We can’t make this stuff up.)

Turns out, shelter stress had her acting like she was powered by espresso shots — but in a home? She’s mellow, affectionate, and totally in her “cozy couch era.” 🛋️💅

She’s been waiting since May, and honestly, we don’t get it. If you’re looking for a small pit mix who’s equal parts cuddle buddy, walking buddy, and comedic relief — Lulu’s your girl.

Let’s make this her last before she gets her forever home 🥹❤️
