Looking for a part time pet sitter in the Santa Fe, NM area. Must have a flexible schedule as we get scheduled for morning, mid day, evenings, and overnights. Part time to start with the possibility of earning full time in the future as business gets busier.

Please remember to keep your pups safe this summer!

Today might be a good day to remind everyone of the dangers of warm weather and summertime for our companion animals.

Please be sure to take the following precautions with your pets all summer long:

• Never leave your animal in an unattended vehicle. Even with windows open, a car can quickly become a furnace. Remember if it's 80 degrees outside, in the car within 10 minutes it's 99 degrees! In 20 minutes it's 114!

• Signs of overheating include weakness, excessive panting and drooling, increased heart and respiratory rate, confusion and seizures.

• Animals with short muzzles (Boxers, Pugs, Persian Cats) are significantly more susceptible to heat stroke since they cannot pant as effectively.

• Keep walks to the cooler part of the day. Asphalt and cement maintain high temperatures and your animal's paws can easily burn. Can you hold the back side of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds? If not, it's too hot for their paws.

• Dehydration can happen quickly. Provide ample, clean water and shade for your animals.
Remember our simple rule - if it's too hot for you...it's too hot for them!

AMAZING SAMSON!
Here Samson is reunited with his owner at the Chico Airport Animal Shelter. The incredible story is that when Samson and his owner were fleeing the fire, Samson suddenly stopped going the direction they were heading, and pulled his owner in a different direction. The owner then observed that there were downed power lines in the path they were going to take. Good dog Samson!
