Miss Cora (now Zara) had her adoption follow-up today and is doing so so well!

She has a high level of focus, understands all of her obedience commands, has been doing well with her potty training, and has transitioned into her new home beautifully.

As a 4-5 month old puppy, she still has a lot of mental development to do, and we're happy to support her family along the way if any road bumps pop up.

Our sweet Jazzy has found her forever home.

This girl has been with us the past 3 months, working on gaining her confidence, and learning to trust humans after coming from an abuse case.

Needless to say, she's accomplished that and more!

She'll be living on many acres in the beautiful state of Wyoming!

We're so happy for her and her new family, and wish them all the happiness! 🚨

A Hard Truth About Rescue Dogs & Training

In rescue, we witness some of the most heartbreaking cases of abuse and neglect. The images and stories stay with us for years, haunting us long after we've moved on. We see the worst of humanity, but we also see incredible resilience.

Here’s something many don’t realize: most of the dogs we rescue, who have been through unimaginable suffering, bounce back. Given time, love, and care, these dogs—who are structurally and genetically sound—recover to a point where you’d never know the trauma they’ve endured.

But there’s another side to this. Some of the most emotionally troubled dogs we encounter aren't those who’ve been abused, but the ones who’ve never been asked to think, work, or face any challenge. These are the dogs who have been spoiled, overindulged, and never given the chance to develop mentally or physically.

These dogs are often the most difficult and sometimes the most dangerous. They lack the basic life skills and the brain to body connection, making them more unpredictable, and harder to manage.

Training is not optional. Not giving a dog the mental, physical, and learning outlets, is not only counterproductive—it can be downright dangerous. We owe it to these dogs, and to ourselves, to ensure they have the structure and discipline they need to thrive.

Thankfully, in Utah, we have a wide range of skilled trainers, each with different approaches and expertise. If you need help finding one, don’t hesitate to reach out. We work with many trainers across the state and are happy to refer you to someone who fits your dog's needs.

Training isn’t a quick fix, it's a lifelong process. It’s not a magic band-aid. But when you commit to it, you’re committing to a safer, happier, and more fulfilled life—for both you and your dog.

Love your dog, and love your family enough to seek out behavior solutions, and learn about the inherent genetics and background the breed you're living with.

Finn is an absolute gem – a mix of Rottweiler and Cattle Dog, combining the best of both breeds. He’s mellow, clear-headed, and incredibly handler-oriented, making him perfect for even first-time dog owners.

Meet Lola! This sweet girl was an owner surrender to the West Jordan Animal Shelter, and we're so excited to get to know her better.
