Learning new things for a nervous dog is about 10X as difficult as a confident dog. They think about everything movement, sound, eye contact, etc to determine fight or flight.
We're working on acclimating basic commands with Clemson as he'll need this with his new home! He's doing awesome ❤️

Clemson has made a complete 180!
He came to us fearful, shutdown and terrified of people. While we're still helping him come out of his shell, he's made sooo much progress and we're so happy about it!
If you're interested in Clemson please contact us at 435-580-3125 or [email protected]
(5-7 month old Malamute)
Good morning from our crazy Teenagers! All of these pups are between 4 months and 9 months and are in the thick of Puberty or Pre-Pubescence!
Remember your Pre-Teens & Teens? Those were some awkward times....
Puppies between the ages of 4-6 months are going through Pre-Pubescence and are learning everything about the world, teething, and practicing new behaviors (mildly).
Puppies between the ages of 6 months to 24 months know everything and you can't tell them nothin'. At this point, the thick of Puberty is onset, and your once sweet little puppy couldn't care less if you're around. You'll see new behaviors (can be more moderate), and you'll likely have to gain a lot of patience as it'll seem most training has gone out the window.
With Socialization, the puppy "pass" expires at 6 months, and the patience of older dogs grows thinner, so having a few socially appropriate adult dogs to teach respect is so critical. Emphasis on socially appropriate.

We recommend finding appropriate socialization classes or pack walks to work on Socialization Skills!
We love getting updates on our Previous Fosters!
Miss Jade is living the good life by the pool!
Remember this sassy pants we brought into rescue last week??
It's okay, we didn't either after she came out of her grooming appointment with Cali Dream Grooming who did a *PHENOMENAL* job making this sassy girl, feel and look her best!

Today, I wanted to highlight a special guy who makes it possible to do what we do: Chase!
Chase has poured his heart and soul into helping me run our business, and he does everything with as much passion and commitment as he has! Z
He wins over unwinnable dogs, clients, and does a damn good job at being the best father, partner, and dog dad to our personal pack of dogs.
He's always been around dogs, owned dogs, volunteered with dogs, but learning how to lead clients into better behaviors and relationships with their own dogs was something he had to learn super quickly with my guidance, and I personally couldn't be more proud of him.
He's a huge part of the heart and soul of Ohana K9 Behavior Solutions and Ohana Rescue and Rehabilitation, and he deserves a few days of praise.
If you see him in your travels, make sure to tell him Happy Birthday!
Mr. Frankie got to have a spa day and absolutely adored all of the staff at Cali Dream Grooming!
(He might've even won one of them over for a new foster home 💯)
This handsome boy truly is the best!

Miss Daisy (formerly Sadie) has been having a blast learning good social skills and playing with her foster brother!
She is currently on a training hold, and will be ready for adoption by May.
Miss Jade is a HUGE fan of the snow.
👍 It's a thumbs up for this little gal
Remember, Jade is on a medical hold, and is not quite ready for adoption!
Archie wanted to let you know that he is super polite and respectful of his feline friends! He also wanted to let you all know that he has a committed adopter and will be going home in a few short weeks!
Thank you to everyone who has shared his posts, and gotten to spend time living on this goofy boy, and have cared for him over the past five months.
We rarely have fosters who stay this long, and for some reason this boy has had the worst luck finding someone until now!
All of our fosters live with us and are a part of our family, so we can get to know who they are inside and out, get to know their strengths, flaws, see any physical concerns with their structure, and "proof" their behavior in a home environment.
We want to thank all of the professionals who help us with these guys: groomers, other professional trainers, the veterinarians we work closely with, and the foster homes who volunteer their time/home/love.
We couldn't do what we aim to do without your support!
(And ignore the laundry, we're teaching toddlers how to fold 😂)
