Been a crazy year in Ellie's house. After taking in a rehome (Koda) in 2023, then two fosters late in the year into early 2024, there's been a lot of floofs around the house. Never more than 4 at a time but there have been 5 fosters spend part of their year with us (Katie barely counts as she became a permanent member right around the turn of the year). Pictures in the past year of Katie/Molly, Molly, Bernie, Jax, and Mocha below.

One more catch up video. Through May, we had a foster (Bernie, 15 months old, starts on the bottom in the video) join the pack where he learned how to roughhouse with the younger girls (Katie and Koda, my 2023 adoptees) before moving to his new forever home. Ellie ( 8 ) finally got off the couch joined just to harass Koda a bit at the end.

The pack wandering down by the river. And fun news - Katie is officially now part of the family after just being a foster for the last 3.5 months. Koda said we couldn't give her best friend away, so she's staying. Molly (the other foster) met her likely new mom this week too, but she won't leave us for a few more weeks because of holiday travel.

A bit of sad, but also some happy memories and change too. Today is one year since I lost Bear (can't believe its been that long already). So I'm sharing my last photo of Bear, the last one with both her and Ellie, and then the craziness I have for now.

Ellie is still going steady, keeping the house in check like Bear did with her, and sometimes demanding attention from strangers at the park. Koda has some of the fun annoying quirks Bear had and sleeps in Bear's spot in bed. Katie has Bear's cuddle (and demand for love) traits. And Molli has Bear's chicken tendencies about random things and holds her paw up the same way when she gets worried. All of them combined still don't offer all Bear did, but they keep little memories of her alive every day.

Making progress with getting Katie and Molly (fosters) settled in. Katie is doing great (except being very afraid of unknown people). Molly is coming along well at home but is very afraid of going out and about. Koda is super excited to have a play buddy in Katie and Ellie enjoys that someone else is taking the brunt of Koda's annoyances. Molly is less excited by Koda's incessant energy.

One week into being a four-Berner household. Katie is really settling in well and has become quite the (typical Berner) needy/clingy girl, trusting me (but not other people yet). Molly is getting comfortable at the house, but isn't really ready for the world. Koda is excited to have others to annoy (I think Ellie appreciates them taking some of Koda's energy too).
