What is 'Petrichor'? ๐ค
Though you may not be familiar with the word, odds are you are familiar with the smell!
Petrichor (Pronounced /หpeหtrฤซkรดr/ ) is the Pleasant Earthy smell that accompanies the First Rain after a long dry period. ๐๐ง
Many of us - especially living in Florida - have grown up with a deep love and appreciation for this smell. The Petrichor on the breeze, blowing in from the storms brewing out east in the summertime speaks something to our souls. โจ An innate knowing that the rain is coming, and with that rain, comes Life! ๐ง๐ฑ
So next time you are outside, and notice that sweet, earthy, nearly indescribable smell that whispers of coming rains - know that you are experiencing Petrichor! ๐ง Know that new life is coming, and one facet of that life is... you guessed it - MUSHROOMS! ๐๐
