It is SO easy to anticipate a big reaction and subconsciously your body will prepare you for it- sometimes you don’t even realize.

Usually this looks like clenching your hands, jaw, arms go up to your chest like you’re holding ice cream cones, you hold your breath and your whole body stiffens.

Sometimes this can cue your dog in that something has changed, and it can put them on high alert before they even know what’s happening- which can lead to a reaction.
It is NOT your fault- owning a reactive dog can be exhausting, frustrating, embarrassing and stressful at times 🤍

Remember to breathe, you’re not alone. Reach out to a trainer for help if you’re not getting where you want to.
We’re here to help you and your dog!

Holidays can be stressful when you’re trying to maintain your dog’s training.
Extra people, kids, food, chaos…it can be a lot to manage!

Remember, fall back to your structure and help guide your dog through it. It’s OKAY to put your dog(s) away so that you aren’t feeling the stress of managing your home/food while also trying to manage your dogs manners with your guests (or your guest’s manners with your dog 😉)
