❤️🩹ROBIN❤️🩹
Robin came to us as a 13 year old female with a mass on her abdomen. She had not been spayed and it was soon found out that her mass was on her mammary chain. Unfortunately, this type of mass usually spreads very quickly and can even cause masses to develop elsewhere in the body. Due to the poor prognosis, the owners didn’t want to invest in surgery with the likelihood that it could come back. They decided to surrender her to AHC with the hope that we could remove the mass and give Robin more time.
Dr. Boysen donated his time and removed Robin’s mammary mass and spayed her. She started her recovery and did phenomenal! Unfortunately, about a month and a half after her first surgery, she started developing another mass further down her mammary chain. It was very fast growing so we had to decide if it was fair for her to perform another surgery. We brought her in, did chest x-rays and found that she had a mass around her heart. We knew this was a likely development but just wished for a different outcome for this sweet, sassy lady. Since hospice care was on the table, we spoiled her as much as we could with all the churus and wet food that she wanted. She had the best bed in the house and got daily brushing to keep her looking fantastic.
Robin was very apparent when she decided her fight was over and thankfully, she went downhill very quickly and didn’t have to suffer. Dr. Boysen, again, gave his compassionate care and helped Robin pass the rainbow bridge. She wasn’t with Animal Haus for long, but she was absolutely loved and spoiled while she was. We wish we could have given her more time, but we are so happy we got to keep her comfortable and give her the additional time that she had. Rest easy Robin. Pain free and playing with the other AHC warriors we have lost this year. ♥️
