To Socialize or Not to Socialize? That is the question! Puppies' socialization window closes at around five months old, which is also when they usually receive their final vaccines. Many puppy parents are told not to take their puppies out in public until fully vaccinated, but if they follow that advice, they are missing out on that VITAL socialization window, predisposing their dog to fearfulness and reactivity later in life.
The below link explains the position of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior on the topic of why puppies should be socialized before being fully vaccinated:
