Is this the year you finally give in? When you hear the “peep, peep, peep” suddenly in the local feed store, and your kids grab your hand and immediately locate where the sound is coming from. Then two things always happen. First they want to hold one of the baby birds too cute to resist. And second after a minute or two of childhood wonder, they will ask “Can we take one home? Please????”.

It all started when we decided to give in and let our kids take home a dozen cute baby chicks from the feed store. I knew that just a small coop wouldn’t due, so after some careful planning, we decided to build what I had envisioned. Something nice to look at while you’re sipping coffee and watching the sunrise.
