Chicagoland Dog Rescue (CDR) is a 501(c)(3) shelter-less dog rescue 100% run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are in foster homes, but we do board some dogs we take in at vets when necessary.

Hi there! I’m Max — a smart, lovable pup ready to steal your heart. I’m potty and crate trained, and I love learning new tricks. My sweet personality shines through in everything I do!

I’m affectionate, gentle, and always up for a snuggle. I get along great with both kids and adults!

I enjoy long walks, playtime with my favorite toys, and making new friends—human or furry!

Call your vet now if your dog needs anti-anxiety medicine. Check to make sure micro chip info is up to date.

Give your dog a safe place to hang out during the fireworks. Keep them home where they are safe and secure.

Meet your new best friend, Nessie! 🐶

Hi I'm Nessie, but my foster mom calls me Nessie Wessie! I'm just a big ball of fun and have really come out of my shell since coming to my foster home. I looove playing with my 3 foster fur siblings and have gained so much more confidence. I am such a fast girl so I'm told and can jump so high. I love to play outside too. I'm like a little gazelle my foster mom says and I still get so many compliments on my dainty little nose. I sleep through the night, love cuddles, know the commands "no" and "sit" and I'm almost potty trained. I just need to be on a set schedule. I am good at telling my foster mom when I have to potty when I start to whimper a little bit. Can't wait to show my forever home all of my new skills.

Amidst the (very warm!) fun at Rosie O’Hara’s this weekend, we got an unexpected and incredible surprise from one of our amazing fosters! 🐾

Michelle K, who’s always been a rockstar foster, participated in a steps challenge at work and nominated Chicagoland Dog Rescue as her team’s charity. Her team took 2nd place—and on Saturday, she stopped by with a $750 donation check for the rescue! 💛

When we told her how much it meant, she simply said, “We are glad to be a small part of the big difference the rescue is making.”

Wondering why these four pups look so sad? No one has stepped up to foster them😞

We have the cutest litter of pups needing foster or foster to adopt homes!

These cuties were picked up as strays and brought to the shelter. They think they were unwanted and dumped.

The boys names appear in blue, and the girls are in pink. They are eight week old babies, and they really need to get out of the shelter.

Hello! My name is Saylor, and I’m a gentle girl with a heart full of love to give. While I may start out a little shy, once I feel safe, I absolutely soak up attention and affection — snuggling is one of my favorite things.

I adore other dogs and feel most comfortable with a confident pup by my side. My foster mom says I really shine when I have a furry friend to look up to and play with.

I’m housetrained, up to date on vaccines, and spayed — ready to find a forever home where I can settle in, bond deeply, and share all the love I’ve been holding onto.
