💗💗SOS!!!! Foster home needed !!💗💗

Ernie is an adorable 5 year-old Shih Tzu mix that weighs about 13lbs. He is in a foster home with 3 other dogs and 4 cats, and gets along great with all of them! He is fearful of new people, especially smaller children. Ernie needs a quiet home with another dog who can show him the ropes and boost his confidence. Ernie is working on his potty training, as he never lived in a home before, so it is a work in progress. He loves to chew on bully sticks, play with toys, and run around in the yard. With a lot of love and patience, he will warm up to you and want snuggles by army crawling toward you with a wagging tail.

Three new CDR pack members arrived on this frigid morning. Espresso (female) and Blizzard (male) are adorable 12 week old pups. Khaki (female) is an incredibly sweet 18 month old dog.

They are now enjoying feeling warm and safe in their foster homes.

Many thank to our wonderful fosters who opened up their hearts and homes to these dogs❤️

We have 6 puppies that will be joining us in February. They were two weeks old yesterday. Mama (GSD) and Papa (Choc Lab) are pictured. The adults are not up for adoption but will be spayed and neutered. There will be no more accidental litters happening.

There are four females - two brown and two black. The two males are both black.

We are taking applications for both foster and foster to adopt homes. Please fill out an application today. We will have individual pictures in a couple of weeks.

The frigid weather is fast approaching. We have had it easy so far this winter. Now, the temperature will be dropping, and there are several possibilities of snow in the next several days.

Please remember to watch your dogs while they are outside in the cold. Don't walk away and leave them out for an extended period. Husky owners - we know your dogs love this weather, so disregard this post.

If you see an animal struggling, please do something. Don't look the other way. If you can help, please do.

Everyone thinks introducing a new dog to their home should be seamless. It is rarely seamless.

It doesn'tmatter whether you foster or adopt. Dogs need time to acclimate to their new surroundings, other animals, and new people. Give them a chance to settle in and relax

Out with 2024 and in with 2025!

We would like to thank everyone who helps to support Chicagoland Dog Rescue. So many people share our posts, donate, and attend our events. Thank you❤️

We would like to thank our trainers. They have helped thousands of dogs over the years. The hours they have dedicated to helping our dogs is mind boggling. Training takes dedication, consistency, patience, and more. Thank you for teaching and inspiring so many of us❤️

We would like to thank all our volunteers for everything they do. They handle dogs at our adoption events, work on and at fundraising events, update our website, send out MailChimp updates, work on our Facebook posts, and so much more. Thank you❤️

Thank you to our fosters. We could not do any of this without you. You help us save so, so many dogs each year by opening up your hearts and homes to our dogs. Thank you❤️

Thank you to our board. You put so much time, effort, and passion into everything you do. Rescue isn't easy. It can be frustrating and heartbreaking. It also fills us with joy, hope, and gratitude. Thank you for carrying this organization year after year❤️

Thank you to our vet partners, rescue partners, transporters, everyone at Petco Schaumburg Corners, and Medinah Park District. You all play integral rolls in our ability to save lives, find our dogs' homes, keep them happy and healthy, and give them a place to learn some basic obedience.

We are so fortunate to have this amazing group of people who dedicate themselves to helping us each year.

Please be kind. Their lives may depend on it.

Please be kind to opossums. Many of them find a cozy place to combat the cold. So many we see are missing parts of tails, ears and toes due to previous frost bite-- and your garage or porch may be the only place they have. Opossums won’t hurt anything-- promise-- and shooing them out may be certain death due to lack of shelter. They are Northern America’s ONLY marsupial. And these precious souls eat fleas, ticks and other pests.
