This is the second dog in the last two weeks that we’ve had come in to our hospital with this type of bone stuck around it’s mandible. Separate companies but the EXACT same design.

Please do NOT buy this type of bone for your pup! It’s not worth the risk. Luckily for this patient, our technician was able to wiggle it free but our previous patient was under general anesthesia for nearly a half hour while we went through every tool in our arsenal to saw through both sides of the bone safely.
Both dogs are lucky that they did not end up with lacerations or broken teeth.

Happy Monday!! Keep your babies cool this week! Gonna be a scorcher! Glad we have groom on Wed! Thurs predicting 97 degrees!! We had a relaxing camping weekend following a bushing chg in my elbow! And we are excited to meet the grands new golden retriever additions: Millie & IYLA (chg Elsie to Iyla)! 💖💖

Their humans aren’t on FB so here’s their updated pic! Lisa grooms them herself and does a pretty good job! They both have their own look coming from same litter! 🥰

The Harman Family is crushed after losing their beautiful 3 year old Aussie, Nelly, when she suffocated in a chip bag this week. Vandy Harman writes, "This sweet girl belonged to our son Ben and his girlfriend Karlee, and brought so much joy to all our lives with her funny personality, her no-tail tail chasing, her beautiful woo-woo songs, and her endless face licks.

While the death of a family pet is never easy, when it's sudden, senseless and preventable, it brings a special kind of pain that no pet owner should ever have to endure. Nelly died of suffocation after digging an empty bag of chips out of a trash can, and it's much more common than I would have ever thought possible. The mylar bags used to keep chips and other snacks fresh are a hazardous death-trap for animals seeking those little crumbs in the bottom of the bag. Once their heads get deep down into the bag, every breath they take causes the bag to suction further and tighten around their faces and neck, resulting in the inability to pull it off, oxygen deprivation and suffocation within as little as 3-5 minutes. Trust me, this is an especially heartbreaking way to lose a furry family member, so please help us raise awareness about it.

Well I’m def hoping at 2 1/2 years old, Bluey is done growing. I thought Blu had lost a little weight, but shot updates this week shows Bluey went from 85.5 to 89.3!! Healthy as a horse! Lol. And I decided to measure his height: head 38” high and butt 30” high.
Buffy, pre-pup weight 60-62 #, put on a little weight, like we all do after having kids: now 72lbs at 5 1/2 yrs! Healthy & happily retired camping dogs, 22 pups later! Love these two! 💖💙

Happy New Year to All Buffy’s Beautiful Pups & their Humans! Happy “9” months bday to 2nd litter this wk And 26 months to litter one! Thank you all for loving them as family!
Please feel free to post on here any pics, weights, tips, groomer recommendations, issues, like allergies (that darn chicken in everything or environmental), spaying & neutering info that may help another!
AND don’t forget to talk to your vet about Gastropexy done during Spay/neuter surgery; highly recommended for doodles being part poodle!

The weatherman should be reprimanded when he/she’s wrong! Today would have been a great day for pups to get together!
Our 2:30ish is mostly Sunny (little windy) & 48 degrees! 🤦‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ It was “supposedly going to be 60% chance of rain 12-1pm & from 3-5pm.”
….. we will make it happen yet!

“I had suggested all the pups are welcome to come visit Sunday, tomorrow but Im thinking it may not be the best of days! 60% chance rain here & 43degrees. I (Bart too😉😉!) definitely want this to be an “outdoor” event so I dont think itll work for tomorrow. Multiple Wet dogs in the house wouldn’t go over well! Lol

Hobbs daddy, Mark Ward, had a great idea! Can we get everyone to take a one year pic of each of Buffy’s Beauties! Or sometime this coming week, they turn “ONE” Nov 18, well except Cocoa (White-Paws) wee hours of 11/19!
