From RVHA:
Good morning - we live in an amazing community, the amount of community reach has been overwhelming. Thanks to all, I'm very proud to live here.
Evacuation orders are still in effect. The fire has grown to 3000 acres and is zero percent contained. Fire fighters have a line around the perimeter at this point. 300 fire fighters and personnel are on site. One secondary structure has been lost. Winds are predicted to increase today so keep an eye out. There are over 50 people offering horse/livestock help, and the Cave Creek Rodeo Grounds (37201 N. 28th St, Cave Creek) are open for use. RV's are also welcome at the Rodeo Grounds, in addition to 5 vets that are staged if needed. There is no cost, and no Coggins is required. Fry's is donating food and beverage for those on site.
Drones continue to be a problem, as soon as one is spotted, all fire fighting aircraft are grounded. This allows the fire to grow and if an aircraft collides with a drone, a fatal accident could occur. It's also a federal crime to fly any aircraft, including hobby drones, into the restricted airspace around a fire without permission.
We're trying to consolidate information and limit posts to several sites - we'll keep posting here, but if you haven't joined the RVHA page, please do so, along with the Rio Verde Foothills Bulletin Board, here's the link to join -
