This is one of the hardest posts that I have ever made. Lady Amber Cleinmark passed away in my arms just 1 minute away from the emergency vets office yesterday.
It appears that she was injured internally when she and King Tanner Cleinmark mated recently. After her heat, and thinking she was effected by the pregnancy, I noticed that she became very solitude. She just wasn't right but was eating and drinking normally until Saturday morning.
She went downhill very quickly and similar to the way King Tucker Cleinmark passed away from a blockage that caused 8 inches of his colon to die a few years ago.
I was blessed with Lady Amber for 15 of her 17 months. She was an amazing little helper with Lady Clover's puppies and would have been a wonderful momma herself. She will forever be in my heart and took a large portion of it with her.
If you are considering breeding your dogs, please know that unexpected and devastating things can happen. I spoke with a long time Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeder years before Tanner and Clover blessed me with so many healthy and happy puppies with no issues whatsoever...
She informed me then of the fact that you can lose individual puppies, a whole litter, or even your beautiful and forever loving momma. You never think it will happen with your babies, but it does...
This experience has taught me a very powerful lesson. Take your babies to the vet as soon as you notice anything wrong. Had I left for the emergency vets just a few minutes earlier, my Lady Amber may very well still be with us. The guilt that I feel at this moment cannot be put into words.
I can not talk at this time. It just hurts too much. I sure hope that all dogs go to heaven and Amber is with Tucker now...
