I know as a pet parent it can be difficult to get rid of the “puppy hair” however, I always appreciate when a pet parent is cognizant enough to come in and ask for something that fits their lifestyle.

Just because your pup has some matting or may be shorter than usual doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. It means that you and your pip will have less frustration. Especially when it’s time for summer activities like swimming, which have already begun here in Phoenix.

Want this look for your dog? Next time you visit your groomer, ask them for a # 1 comb attachment on your pups body. It’s a great length for maintenance, but yet still cute for a little bit of fluff!

I love having that one who has notes about being snippy and the grooming session end like this.

Most times, it’s not that the dog is “bad” but maybe likes to test limits, maybe it needs reassurance and most times, a little redirection is all it takes.
•
Take the time to be patient with your clients and make sure you make space in your day to day routine to enjoy these little moments; the dogs will appreciate you so much.

And thisssssss is why I never wanted to groom dogs part time because I knew that they’d end up all over my timeline 😂

I never understood how groomers don’t have the patience for a puppy. Being a groomer to puppies is a rewarding experience filled with the reward of getting this new, clueless little person and molding them for something they’ll have to do their WHOLE LIFE.

The best part is witnessing the transformation from a scruffy, sometimes unruly furball into a well-groomed and happy dog.

Building trust with puppies creates a special bond, and the satisfaction of contributing to their overall well-being is immeasurable.

Used the HYDRA USA Vegan Detox line to give this cutie is first puppy intro session. It left him feeling soft, clean and did great with lifting a lot of the accident staining from his paws.

We had such a great time together💖

One of my clients sent me this. And I will always call him a client because he’s invaluable to me.

I needed this reminder as to why I love this industry because I still have the joy of speaking to people I met over 12 years ago. Not only my client, but also who owns One of the most rewarding jobs I’ve had up until Covid.
•
Lu-Dee (shown) was my FIRST regular client. Her dad’s literally followed me to the moon and back to groom her. You’d think a simple dog like a chihuahua wouldn’t be a big deal once your groomer finds new work, but they always valued and appreciated me enough to follow me through my journey, which meant more than the money EVER.
•
In 2023, I’ve felt so undervalued and underutilized and it’s honestly been a struggle and made me question why I still bother in the pet industry. But people like Lu-Dee’s dad’s remind me that it’s the PEOPLE that I must stay persistent for.
•
In 2024, my primary focus will be helping pet business owners show up as the best versions of themselves through their BUSINESS. Yes, services matter but if you can’t create relationships, then you’re not doing it right. I’m a firm believer that when you build relationships, you can go ANYWHERE. Remember, don’t focus on having EVERY client, focus on having the BEST clients. It’ll take you further than you think♥️.

Selling my business & moving across the country last year to advance my career in the pet industry hasn’t been the easiest journey for me. While I’ve been blessed to stand firm on my mission to create opportunities for other industry professionals, it’s often had me in a place where I find myself lost & trying to wonder what my purpose is in the industry now that I’m not a business owner. Sometimes I also even battle with if I should still be in the Pet Industry. And losing one of my best friends in the industry back in March, didn’t make it easier. In the days where it seems everyone wants to be a grooming “celebrity” it often dampens my mission to promote authenticity and creating space for those who don’t have thousands of followers.
•
was surely an eye opener to me. For me, I function in the mindset at shows as a Marketer (what’s hitting the industry that can help other businesses upsell, resell and make them work smarter vs harder), networker and consumer. And seeing what is happening in the industry; new brands, new innovations and technology truly reignited me; and I know my place is here. Maybe not exactly where I’m at but it’s something I can never give up. It’s truly why I think I cried when I held Leo the bird (slide 3).
•
For everyone who came up to me, calling me “famous”, telling me how much you not only love my content but ME, asking me for pictures and most importantly, thanking me for my contribution to the industry, THANK YOU! Those words truly ignited new feelings and spark inside of me, and I won’t lie; I needed it. I have lost a lot mentally and emotionally trying to be the voice for my people but you all reminded me this week, that I can’t give up. Thank you to everyone who made this week great, brands like & who remind me how women can push through & forward. Thank you to my coworkers for learning more about our world.

Finally returned to my second home Pennsylvania, this weekend to attend our annual Groom Expo in Hershey, PA. I attended as a first time nominee in the Barkleigh Honors and as my first time teaching my very own business course.

The road to being honored for an award and teaching a class has been LONG & tiresome. After 11 long years, it’s bittersweet, and I’m so glad to have had these firsts back in Pennsylvania and not far from where you all supported me in business and in my transition out of state to broaden my career.

I still love and miss your dogs (and probably always will) and just wanted to circle back and tell you all THANK YOU for being part of the reason I’m in this moment!

My very first Groom Expo West was such an amazing weekend long experience! Had the most amazing time.

Outside of work, I love taking time at expos to chat with my colleagues and groomer fam; networking is SO important and I can’t stress enough how IMPORTANT it is to take time to attend expos not only to shop; but to also network and learn from others.
•
I especially have to thank Jennifer from for trusting me with the iGroom booth! is an important and amazing brand to me and it was important to me to uphold the brand’s integrity wholeheartedly! Thanks to everyone who stopped by the iGroom booth to make a purchase, say hello, and most importantly to those who spread love about the brand.

Over on TikTok the audience wanted backstory on how we even ended up in L.A. and came back to the East Coast with a dog named Cali. (Watch previous post). So in case you’re a new’ish follower this led me and my girls to California last year. Grooming on Skid Row was one of the best experiences and I can’t wait to go back.

In case you’re a new’ish follower, last year while volunteering in L.A. myself, & found this little cutie roaming the busy streets of L.A.
•
So of course, four freshly washed, and dressed women (who thought they were just headed to sight see) coerced a puppy from under a van, (in the L.A. heat) fed and carried a random dog on their adventure to Hollywood. Thankfully, because we were volunteering we had food, leashes, and a collar as well as all of our Grooming equipment on hand (she’s a lucky girl).
•
On Wednesday, her new mom drove from New York City to Pennsylvania so that I could groom her (and her brother Kipp who is also my former baby from New York) for Thanksgiving. I patiently waited over a month to see them both!
•
She’s just as sweet as the day we met her. She got so much bigger and she loves to snuggle. Kipp was definitely jelly too😂.
•
It’s just crazy how divine intervention works. She literally was found by a car full of amazing people, at the right time, and it literally was no argument on the original owner’s part for us to keep her!
•
I love a great success story and she definitely is one!
