So it's been an exciting week with Madame Nala.
On Sunday evening when I was giving her the daily pills for her lymphoma, she got mad at me, bit the silicone tip of the piller, pulled it off, and swallowed it.
Mind you this is 1.25 inches long!
Because of her already having gi disease, her being small, and the size of what she swallowed, we headed out to the ER vet at 1am on Monday am so they could see if they could persuade her to barf it up.
No dice on the barfing - she's on an anti-nauseau drug for the chemo side effects and that seemed to win. The med they gave her to induce vomiting just made her eyes HUGE and her freaked out.
Back home and she spent the evening in solitary to rest, recover from the med, and have no access to food.
8am Monday am and we took her back to the vet where she got an ultrasound that showed the piller tip was still in her stomach and then an endoscopy to remove it. ($$$ by the way). This was successful (YAY) so we didn't have to resort to open surgery.
She got to come home that day and other than the shaved belly and ALL FOUR shaved legs, she's pi**ed but pretty normal. She was very hangry.
So we came out of it okay and I immediately superglued the tips on the other pillers.
Exciting in a way I don't care to repeat.
