Did you know that here at ODAS, we run a community Pet Pantry? We offer assistance to Johnson County residents who may be experiencing hard times by providing dog food, cat food, and litter. The Pet Pantry is completely donation based and we are so thankful for all contributors throughout the year. Currently our Pet Pantry is bone dry and we are in sore need of donations so we can continue supporting our community. This vital resource helps families keep their pets when things get hard.

We are in need of:
- dog kibble
- wet dog food
- cat kibble
- wet cat food
- cat litter

We accept new and open bags of food as long as it is within date. If the food is in a container, not the original packaging, it needs to be clearly labeled as cat or dog food. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter on weekdays as early as 10am. If you are bringing a large amount, please call ahead so we can properly receive you. Thank you so much for helping us serve our community!

On Friday July 19th we took part in this wonderful movement. Our clinic completed 35 alteration surgeries to help reduce our pet overpopulation problem.

Thank you to everyone at SNKCK for setting this up and making this possible!

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please email us at [email protected]. You can simply reply to your appointment conformation. Requests to set up an appointment through this email will not be returned. We must speak with the owner of the pet on the phone to set up an appointment.

The other email [email protected] is not monitored outside of our special events.

Our voicemail seems to be continuously at max capacity (53 voicemails when we left on Friday 4pm) despite our best efforts to keep up.

Until further notice no walk in appointments will be booked to allow us to catch up on all the voicemails.

Just wanted to post this again to share some love for some other wonderful low cost clinics in Missouri.

We understand our voicemail is always full and some individuals are having a very hard time making appointments. The constant hate and complaining that we are receiving through email, phone calls, voicemails, notes, in clinic and Facebook is not necessary. I feel like I am counseling a child but it needs to be said: WORDS HURT! There is no need for negativity and complaining. Being continuously rude to us does not help solve the problem. Please understand we are doing our best. If this continues we will likely not offer any more free/low cost days and just stick to regular appointments.

We have ONE vet on staff who does all the surgeries. From 3 Jan-28 June we have completed 2989 spays and neuters. We are pretty proud of that number and will keep moving forward to help as many as we possibly can.

Our take a cone, leave a cone box is running a little low. We would love to have some people drop off cones. We are open Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. If those times do not work for you, you can always drop it off at our door after hours.

We will be hosting a free event on Friday 19 July as part of SNCKC!

If you would like an appointment for this free event please EMAIL [email protected]. Please include your name, phone number and what you would like the appointment for (i.e. one female cat). Appointments for this event WILL ONLY be booked by emailing the above email.

We will be offering 37 total spots as a first come first serve.
We know they will fill up fast and we are doing our best to have more events like this in the future for those who need them.

Our prices sadly have had to increase.

We know EVERYONE is feeling the pain of the economy so if you need assistance please ask us when you check in with your pet and we will absolutely help you with your bill if we can. Sadly this well can run dry if abused so please do not abuse this amazing gift we have been given. We love the ability to help those in need.

We understand our mailbox is full. This is how we schedule our normal appoinemtns. We re filling up fast and leave our voicemail unanswered until the next week when more appointments open up. Voicemail is how we schedule appointments outside of special events. We do not make appointments though text or email. We understand it is frustrating, it is for us as well. We want to be able to help everyone but with only one veterinarian currently on staff there are limits.

Each surgery that is discharged is given post op instructions with our vets cell phone incase there are problems with the surgery. Please ensure to keep that important paper and utilize that for contacting the vet directly.

Please leave a message specifying cat/dog, male/female and how many appointments you need. This will assist us in scheduling your appointment quicker.

It’s only Tuesday and our week of 15 July is full. We still have 40 voicemails to return. It is taking us longer than normal to return phone calls at the moment due to a very high volume. We hope to have them all returned by tomorrow afternoon.

We have limited spots available and they fill up fast. I wish we could do more but everyone is feeling the pain. Vet clinics are shutting down to new clients, shelters are turning away animals because they are full, and rescues are turning away animals that need help because they too are full!

Kitten season is in full effect and cats are having their second litter of the season now.

Please remember we are doing the best that we can. We have one veterinarian and three employees on staff. We do not have a full time receptionist. Calling multiple times or leaving multiple voice mails does not increase your chances of a call being returned any sooner than leaving one voice mail.

Please reach out to Columbia Spay and Neuter or Pet Resource Center of Kansas City to see if they have anything sooner if needed.
