4 girls from the 2 litters last year (June and July 21 babies) were recently returned to me. I would give favor to anyone interested in adopting the 4 together but would split them into 2 and 2 if I have to. I will update with photos tomorrow. ❤️

Hello TRR followers! It’s been 3 months since I posted, despite promising to post more.

Unfortunately, things at this time have taken a front seat in life and put breeding projects on hold. I am finishing the semester of my undergraduate studies and starting to apply for grad school, working through an internship, enjoying participating in various rescue missions and taking in fosters, on top of caring for my own large and busy family and dealing with personal life struggles we all encounter.

At this time, I don’t honestly have any pairings planned and to be transparent, I’m unsure if I will in the future. I know my venture has been short thus far, and I adore my rats and appreciate the hard work of ethical breeders but I’m unsure that the need for breeding right now warrants the work I will put into it.

I’m finding a lot of fulfillment in both my area of study (Social Work) and changing small animals lives who are put into unfortunate circumstances to no fault of their own while also focusing on the needs of my family.

Update on Rues boys from the Silvermane litter! Aren’t they beautiful?! 😍 My lovely friend Amanda Decker is helping me monitor their health and temperament and either of us could be more pleased!

Violets babies are 3.5 weeks! They’re climbing and playing and exploring and digging. I had so much fun photographing them today and seeing their personalities shine! This is the most adorably sweet litter, calm and affectionate. ❤️

So many pictures I took tonight! We have some with peepers, one who’s possibly a runt or failure to thrive (also who’s the only Harley baby of the littler 😭), and a mix of cinnamon, russian cinnamon, blue and a single PEW girl. Such a beautiful litter! 🐀

I was able to get a count and it looks like 4 boys and 9 girls! 😳 We have 1 Ruby eyed baby in the whole bunch. It’ll be fun to watch them grow!

Something a little more cheerful.

The roans, the girls from the SM litter, Audi and Rue, and the little agouti dwarf having playtime. I got smart and added the small dig box to the playpen. I’m sure I’ll have another mess to clean later! 😐

Just an update on Violet.

She’s struggling with showing any interest in her beans. I moved her out of her large bin and placed her in this one we used to transport the soft furs. I also covered her with some fleece so that she cannot be distracted by sights around her. This seems to have helped tremendously and today her beans all have some milk, despite last night all appearing to mostly be empty and starting to look dehydrated.

I know there’s a chance she could still lose some but the hope is that she continues to feed them so they’re big and strong enough that I could potentially take over if needed in the next couple weeks. She’s being very sweet with me and I can’t blame her at all for not enjoying nursing so many kiddos. 😆

As of now, this is the reason I haven’t bothered them for cute pictures or to be concerned with counting boys and girls just yet. Happy, healthy mom and healthy fed babies are my current priority. 💛

RIP Penny 10/1/2020 - 07/17/2021

Penny was the only living daughter of mama Tootsie. She was so incredibly special to me and my heart hurts and I have no answers why. I found her in respiratory distress as the vets were closing for the weekend. The emergency vets only offered to euthanize her but couldn’t see rats to care for her and I did everything I could but she was too sick for me to save. This one really hurts. 💔

I thought she didn’t take again. But nope… delayed implantation in rats is indeed real. 🤣

Poppy was my kiddos first ever rat and will always be special to us. She was the sweetest, most lovable rat I’d met before her, we are going to miss her terribly.

Update: The boys found a home! 😃

Would anybody within 2 hours of Issaquah, Wa be interested in a trio of African Soft Furs? They come with their tank, hides, water bottle, food and whatever else is needed for them. Can be delivered to the right family!

I handle the babies once per day for less than 5 minutes to check their health, snap a few photos or video and come back the next day. Here’s an example of how confident and friendly they are; She couldn’t decide if she wanted to groom herself or groom me. 😭
