Storm update!

The shop is without power today, February 23. Any appointments scheduled for today will need to be rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you all by way of text and calls.

Just a reminder!

The shop is closed for the holidays until Jan 2nd. Voicemail messages will be collected and returned starting then. There could be a large volume of messages to handle and it may take us a day or two to go through them all.

Oskar the Wire Hair Dachshund had just the most wonderful disposition! He came to see Ashton for a Hand strip.

Hand Stripping is the process of removing dead hair from the coat to smooth and tidy up the pet. Terriers are double coated. They have 2 types of hair that make up their coat; the dull colored softer undercoat, and the rich colored wire top coat. Hand stripping is removing the dead off the top coat by finger plucking and various stripping specific tools.

This preserves the wire texture and rich color otherwise lost when cutting the coat with clippers. When done properly it doesn't hurt the dog, though some pets may be sensitive to the sensation.

Oscar the Spinone Italiano, a breed most haven't heard of and few find the chance of meeting!

The Spinone Italiano is an Italian breed of hunting dog, traditionally used for tracking, for pointing and for retrieving game.

Oscar was the sweetest old man ever for Shannon today, it was such a pleasure to spend the day with him. 💕

We were just made aware that our phone number is showing up Incorrectly when we call you!

We were told the number that has been showing up is (586)-209-5893, if there has been any other please let us know. (The texting service has its own number, it is set up through our booking system)

We are working on fixing this now, We are sorry for the confusion. We had no idea this was an issue.

Good morning!

Just a couple of quick notes, I will be out on vacation starting August 25th and I will not be back until September 6th. Messages left will not be retrieved until then. Kelly will be servicing her clients as normal during that time.

Also, starting in October the normal pricing for grooms will be rising. I recognize that money is tight for many of us, however these adjustments are necessary for me to continue serving you all. The expected change could be anywhere from $5-$20, with smaller dogs starting at $50 and larger dogs starting at $80.

Scheduling Announcement!

I am posting to warn everyone of the current and foreseeable scheduling trend, I am currently completely booked until January.

I am aware and am very sorry for any conflicts that may create in your pets grooming schedules. I encourage any of you that absolutely need an appointment earlier than this, to try and get booked with another groomer in the interim, and please give me a call to get your next appointment with me scheduled as soon as you can!

To prevent future interruptions of your pets grooming appointments I now have the ability to easily set up all of the appointments for your pet for the next year if you would like. I have been learning to utilize the online booking system I upgraded to and hope that a few of the features I have recently started to use will help all of us in getting your pets appointments scheduled in time.

On another serious note, thank you to all of my wonderfully kind and understanding clients that have been so patient with me. I sympathize with you in your frustrations over the lack of flexibility in my scheduling. However, I want to impress upon you that I am only one person trying my best to service the 600+ clients in my program's database. I haven't even been accepting new clients since earlier this year, but clearly I stopped too late. I am already working 10-12 hour days regularly and am not physically or mentally capable of working more hours than I already do.

The reason I am stating this is I have received some recent reactions from clients that have been extremely upsetting, and while I do sympathize with the frustration, some responses have been completely unacceptable. I don't like being this booked, I worry every day about trying to fit in all of my beloved regulars. I regret not catching this wave sooner, and taking steps to try and curb the issue before it became this bad. That being said it is difficult having to deal with some clients verbally accosting me over the phone and even inside the shop. Please, I ask that everyone continue to be patient and understanding, and set up multiple appointments or even recurring ones to guarantee your regular schedules. If this isn't acceptable then I will understand if you have to go elsewhere in the interim. We will get through and return to a more normalized schedule for everyone, but it will take time. Thank you!
