I just received this photo today. ❤️ Our last kitten "Blackie" went to his new home a couple weeks ago, and guess where he gets to live now?? A Daycare!! 😃 How cool is this?! When I was informed that he was going to be a daycare cat, I just couldn't believe it. How fun!! I'm told that the kids love him and he's sweet as can be. Other than it sounds like he doesn't like to share the high chair!! 😂 His new name is Mr. Tux. 🖤 (I'm sure he appreciates that better than "Blackie"! haha) Thanks for sharing, LeAnne! It was so good hearing from you today and it just makes me smile a lot, knowing what a fun home Mr. Tux must have. ❤️ Love it!!

I find myself thinking of my mama kitties today. They are such good mamas, always looking after and taking care of their kittens. I never even got around to posting Blaze's most recent litter. She had three of the most adorable kittens. There's a calico female who has been reserved since she was only a few weeks old. And I was half tempted to keep both of the boys. 😂 I had a gal contact me a couple weeks ago, saying her old Manx cat had recently passed. I went ahead and showed her the photos of Blaze's kittens. (Because I had taken the photos with intent to share.... Jeff was going to kill me if I tried to keep BOTH of the boys. 😂) She fell in love with the little striped kitten in this photo, and explained he looked a lot like her old kitty she had lost. The kittens are just at 7 weeks old and eating their dry food well. We needed a quick trip to Great Falls anyway, so yesterday my two year old and I loaded up the kitten and met her near Vaughn. It sounds like this kitten is going to have a wonderful life at his new home near Fort Shaw. ❤️ (Thanks Sarah, it was nice meeting you and we hope you enjoy our little striped kitten as much as we did!)

Blaze looks wore out today. She very likely spent her entire night outside looking for her kitten. It's to be expected, and she'll be just fine. But as a mom myself, I do notice the mama cats, each time another one leaves. And, as a human, we do probably put more weight into the "emotional" side of it, than the cats do. 😆 But I don't care, today I'm giving some credit to Blaze and all the other mama cats we have. They are good mamas, and I'm proud of them!

We've got something exciting to share today: This is OUR new kitty! He came from Blackfoot, Idaho and is going to be our new herd sire. 😁 What do you all think?? 😃 His mother is a beautiful white calico Manx, and his dad is a registered Norwegian Forest Cat! This guy here has a stubby little bobtail. And as you can see.... we may have some fluffy kittens in our future. ❤️

A very special THANK YOU goes out to our friend, Angie Welker and her family, for giving this kitten a ride from Idaho! I contacted Angie, after hearing she was on a trip visiting family down there. I had been trying to plan a trip down with the kids, to go get the little guy (which wasn't going to be an easy task). I asked Angie if she would mind picking him up on her way back through and she was up for it! I am so grateful Angie, for you making room in your vehicle and letting this little guy be a passenger on your way home!

Thank you also, Jolene Broadbent, for the "Manwegian" kitten and your help in coordinating the delivery of this little guy. I'm happy to be getting another kitten from you! 😊

He is settling in to his new home. He's been busy growling at all the other kitties and letting them know he's tough. 😂 I guess it's time to figure out a name for the little guy!

Meet "Blackie". He's still here, waiting for his person to come pick him. 💕 Maybe he'll get a better name out of the deal? This is the last kitten available from Starla's litter. We have thought from the beginning this little guy shows his mother's Ragdoll genetics. If you aren't familiar with the Ragdoll breed... here is a description I found online: "Docile and sweet, the Ragdoll cat is popular with families and individuals alike given their friendly demeanour and laid-back nature. They will happily assume the role of best buddy around anyone and will love to spend their day playing with their owners." Well, he's all kitten, so the only time he's "laid back" is when he's sleeping. 😂 but Hadley will randomly bring him inside and make him play house and "baby in the doll bed". So yeah, there's that! 😄 He plays these games very well and will be the first one to start purring at meal time. He's friendly as can be and is waiting on a family of his own. Let me know if you'd like me to arrange an introduction. 😉

Well guess what – It’s our One Year Anniversary for this 'Tumbleweed Ranch Cats' page!

As usual, I’m finding this hard to believe because it seems like just the other day I put this idea into action. And yet, has it really only been a year? 😂 So many things have happened in a year’s time! We’ve raised several batches of kittens and have had a lot of changes and milestones around our place since this all started.

One thing I found myself saying recently, is that it’s honestly a lot of work to be raising kittens like this. But I love that my kids, my oldest daughter especially, takes it seriously and helps me with chores. Hadley makes sure the cats and kittens always have food and water. And of course – plenty of attention. 😊 I have always loved cats and now my kids get to enjoy having cats to love and kittens to raise.

It makes my day to hear compliments on our kittens and hear how they are doing well in their new homes. I’ve heard some of the very best stories lately (well – this whole past year!). Some of you have sent/shared pictures and we love them all! I make sure to share all the stories and photos with the kids and they get a huge kick out of it!! 💕

Thanks to everyone for liking and following our page. Thank you to everyone who has gotten kitties from us! We appreciate you all and look forward to sharing more of our cats and kittens with you in the future!

We've got a cool story for everybody today! You know how I've been sharing the pictures of the calico kittens? Well, my mom shared one of the posts. And a friend of hers from North Dakota, who she met several years ago in her trucking travels, messaged her asking about those calico kittens! She explained that "Well those are my daughter's, actually!" In a short couple days time, Ty had made a plan and told me he was going to head our way the next morning, after he got unloaded in Billings. I offered that we could meet him in Great Falls, so that's what we did! Turns out Jeff needed a parts run too, so he and the kids ran the kitties down to meet Ty in his truck! I do believe Ty said something like... "It's only 400 miles out of the way. No big deal. I've been wanting a calico kitten for a long time!" 😀 And as you can see, he's got double the fun. 😊 Sounds like those kittens had a cozy ride back to North Dakota under his sleeper, and are having the time of their life in their new home. 🧡 We look forward to updates from time to time, on what these little calico kittens are up to! Thanks Ty! We hope you enjoy those kitties!!

Well we did something new yesterday - We shipped some Manx kittens across the mountains! 😄 A plan was put together a couple days prior. So, we boxed them up and drove them to Shelby. We met up with a family headed to Kalispell for the weekend and handed off the kittens! In Kalispell, the kittens were united with their new family and made the final leg of the trip to their new home in Libby!

I stepped out into the garage last night and saw one of the kittens playing with what I thought was one of their mouse toys. NOPE!! It was a real one! 😄 One of the mama kitties must have clearly had a successful hunt and brought it in for the kittens. I gotta say, I think this is my favorite part of the whole process. You know, kittens growing up and learning stuff. These mama kitties are smart and know how to teach the littles! ❤️ Nothing better than watching a kitten play with a dead mouse!!
