Breakthroughs happen with Playcation Pals! Sweet “P” stayed hidden in the boxspring until today when she heard my voice! She even enjoyed some scritches for a moment! And Miss White Floof “L” climbed into my lap! Time, patience, and consistency is KEY when caring for pets who don’t know when their people will return.

Ugh, it can be SO hard on our animals when life calls us away from home. And sometimes, our best laid-out plans for them don’t go exactly the way we had hoped. So when they need adjustments, I adjust! And if that means having a sleepover in their place of security (and letting her take over my pillow), so be it!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! This shy little lady even came out from under the bed to have a play date with me! (OK, maybe I bribed her with some Christmas treats…but still!! 🤣🐱

I’m loving on three sweet kitties this week! Well, trying to anyway 🤣. Pippi, Luna, and Bowie were a wee bit hesitant to come out of their shells today, but a good 30 minute “quiet sit” next to a favorite hiding spot (and maybe a laser pointer also 🤫), got me a nice sniff on the hand!

In situations like this, where their owners, their family, their whole world is just suddenly not around, it’s SO IMPORTANT to help pets know that they are still loved and cared for!

Positive affirmations like, “Mommy and Daddy will be home soon!” and “You are still safe!” go a long way, believe it or not.

Bowls were filled, litter box scooped, and I can’t wait to visit again tomorrow 😊🐈🐈‍⬛🐈
