Seresto collars, my take? They are safe, effective, and affordable flea and tick prevention (for cats there is really only one other option for good tick control, which is Revolution Plus). There's a huge counterfeit market of these collars, so if you choose this, be sure you're buying from your vet, their actual online store, or a reputable retailer (not amazon, for example). If you think your pet is having side effects, talk to your vet and report it to Elanco. The reports circulating now are horribly one sided. These are self reported (ie the owner determined this was the problem; and nothing against any pet owner but self reported side effects of covid vaccine included things like spider bites, broken bones, losing teeth, etc, so I take self reporting with a grain of salt). There is no verification that collars were bona fide Seresto and not counterfeit, there were no veterinary exams to confirm any conditions even might have been related, and we are talking about less than 2000 reports (again, who knows how many are real) out of ~25 MILLION collars sold. If you are worried, talk to your vet. There are good alternatives; but there are also products with more side effects that are less effective and cost more so best to get professional guidance.
