Poppy, a sweet and spirited 5-month-old German Shepherd pup, started life in the wrong hands — sold by a backyard breeder to a family with no dog experience, living in an apartment with two small children. Overwhelmed and unsure what to do, the family turned to El Dorado County German Shepherd Rescue for help. Thankfully, we were able to step in, place her with a foster, and give her the structure, training, and support she needed to thrive.
Poppy — now known as Kaida — is living her very best life in South Lake Tahoe with her forever family… the same one who adopted Chance! Stories like hers are made possible because of generous donors like you. This Big Day of Giving, your support helps fund our spay and neuter grant program, which not only reduces the overwhelming number of shepherds entering shelters, but also helps end the cycle of surrender by supporting families who want to do right by their dogs but need a little help to get there. Give today and help us create more happy endings like Kaida’s. Early Giving is open now through May 1 at https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/organization/eldoradocountygermanshepherdrescue 🐾💛
