Hey there, I’m Autumn! 🍂 I’m 2-3 years old, 50lbs, and ready to start a brand-new chapter. My life started as a stray, then I ended up at the shelter, but I got out just in time! Now, I’m making up for lost time with walks, water play, and lots of love.

I love my people and bond quickly, but I’d also really love a dog brother! I’ve been working on my social skills and do best with calm, neutral males. With the right introductions, I know I can make more dog friends too—good things take time!

I’m active, smart, and always ready for an adventure. I love to run, play with wubbas, and splash in the water. Training is new to me, but I’m a fast learner—I know Sit, Down, Place, and walk well on a loose leash. Plus, I’m crate trained!

My name is Bailey, and I have no clue why I ended up at the shelter. Seriously, I’m awesome. I love people, fetch, water, and playing with other dogs. I learn super fast (when I feel like it), and I’m working on my basic commands—though I might try to negotiate terms.

Meet Booker! This sweet and gentle boy is around 4-5 years old. Found as a stray, he spent a few months in the shelter before a wonderful rescue gave him a second chance. Shelter life wasn’t his favorite (but really, whose is?), and now he’s settling into his foster home beautifully. Booker is house-trained, crate-trained, and working on his loose-leash walking. He’s been friendly with every person and dog he’s met so far and absolutely loves playing with toys. Stay tuned for more updates as he continues to settle in!

Louis is an intelligent young dog (1 year, 3 months + 74 pounds) who is active, food motivated and waiting for his perfect person. Louis loves walks, swimming, hanging out with his people and playing with toys. He will grow into a wonderful, loyal, and loving companion for the right household. Like all young dogs, he needs positive training and reinforcement to be the best that he can be and would thrive with an active adopter who understands how to train a young, large breed dog.

Louis' health has declined rapidly due to kennel stress. Mitzie is a spayed female GSD mix, weighing about 50 pounds—perfect for small car lovers! She’s approximately 2 years old, crate-trained, and housebroken. Mitzie’s start to life was tough; she was found in a ditch at just 4 weeks old. Because of this, she’s a little shy with new people, but once she warms up, her spunky personality shines. She gets along well with medium to large dogs and is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative (and on prevention), and walks on a leash (though she’s still perfecting her skills!). Mitzie is a happy, loving girl who just needs a family to call her own.

🌟 Hawk – The Friendly Adventurer 🌟
Meet Hawk, a fun-loving 2-year-old GSD mix who weighs about 60 pounds. Hawk is crate-trained, housebroken, and gets along great with other dogs. He’s up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative (and on prevention), and full of friendly energy! If you’re looking for some excitement and joy in your life, Hawk might just be your perfect match.

Dozer is a unique-looking male GSD mix, approximately 2 years old and 60 pounds of pure joy. He’s crate-trained, housebroken, and knows how to walk on a leash (though he’s still working on mastering it). Dozer LOVES sticks—he’ll carry them, shred them, and make them his own!
Sweet and loving, Dozer does well with other dogs and is ready for a home where he can thrive with love and training.

Boss is a striking German Shepherd Dog with a heart as big as his paws. His journey began on a quiet back road in the North Coast vineyards, where he was left alone and afraid. Concerned locals noticed him and worked tirelessly to ensure his safety, eventually trapping him when his fear made him wary of trust.

Over time, Boss began to open up, showing his true, loving nature to a kind woman who took him in. He greeted her with joyful jumps, sweet puppy kisses, and unwavering loyalty. One night, he even let himself out of the garage to wait by her front door, making sure her boots stayed dry so they could spend the morning together.

Loyalty, unconditional love, and companionship are at the core of Boss’s purpose. Now, he’s searching for a forever home where he can fulfill that mission. Though his affection and eagerness to bond may feel overwhelming at first, with patience and understanding, he promises to become the most loyal friend and steadfast companion anyone could ask for.

Boss is truly exceptional. At around 2–2.5 years old and 80 pounds, he’s not only intelligent but also wonderfully social. He gets along well with other German Shepherds, adores people, and shows no signs of aggression—no food, resource, or barrier guarding. He’s a friendly, well-mannered “velcro dog” who thrives on interaction and being close to his people.

Meet Maximum, or Max for short, a gentle giant with a calm and loving demeanor. At around 6-7 years old and weighing approximately 89 pounds, Max is an older soul looking for a peaceful place to spend the rest of his days.

Most of Max's life was spent on his own, so he's currently learning many new things, like basic obedience and leash walking. He’s a quick learner with a strong desire to please, so it won’t take him long to pick up the rules. For now, he’s settling in at the rescue, enjoying the company of people while also appreciating his independence and the chance to sniff around on his own.

Max is searching for a foster or adopter who can help him continue his journey to becoming his best self. While he’s unsure about other dogs at the moment, he’s certain that a home without cats or livestock would suit him best. Max would thrive with someone who appreciates his gentle nature and is willing to help him on this new chapter of his life.

Sweet Nelly has finally found her forever home after an incredible 569 days at our rescue and with her foster family. Today, our hearts are overflowing with joy, gratitude, and maybe a few (happy) tears. 💖
Fosters like Nelly's are the backbone of our rescue—without them, second chances like this wouldn’t be possible. Nelly found her home with an EDCGSR alumni family, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. While she will never replace your beloved Shep, we know she will help heal your hearts and fill your home with love, joy, and new memories. Nelly’s journey has led her to you, and we know it was worth every step. ❤️ Nelly’s story is a reminder that some things are worth the wait, and every dog deserves a chance at a happily-ever-after.

Meet Lloyd! A 4-year-old German Shepherd with a heart of gold. Lloyd is potty trained, highly food motivated, and has zero reactivity to other dogs. He’s super affectionate, eager to please, and loves leaning into you for attention.

While he can get a little jumpy when he's hungry or overstimulated, Lloyd listens well to commands like "sit down" and will settle quickly. He’s just looking for someone to love him, commit to him, and show him the stability he deserves.

Right now, Lloyd is becoming stressed in the shelter environment, and we’re hoping someone sees the amazing potential in him. With basic positive reinforcement training, Lloyd will thrive in a loving home. 🏡
