Sassy is enjoying this cool weather. They ALL are a lot more active.
The breeding season, known as the rut, precipitates some changes in the deer.
Little Buddy with his basket of antlers.
While Boo and Brida are spreading cheer at Lake George, the other 5 are resting at home. Don't worry, Henry got his chance at the food bowl.
Little Zippy Chippy (anyone remember him?)
Little Henry can move along ok.
The Reindeer say: Tornado warnings, wind, hail, torrential downpours? Who cares? All I know is that it isn't 90 degrees and 80% humidity during the storm
Here they come! Those little first year antlers are really starting to show now. It will be interesting to see what his first "Rudolph" antlers will end up looking like
The big guys were complaining that all the attention was on the "cute little baby" so I agreed to get video of their big cuteness but all they wanted to do was eat
After breakfast Henry heads to the barn to find a nice cool corner to nap. Freyja stands ready to offer him a snack if he wants it.
Little Henry is starting to eat WITH momma Freyja instead of just from her.
Henry was born on June 10 weighing 9 pounds. A week later he was at 11 pounds. Last week he was 15 pounds and today, one day shy of 3 weeks old he is weighing in at 20 pounds. He more than doubled his weight in 3 weeks.
I've been asked when I was going to open up dates and times for holiday visits. Well, I did it today. Just go to our website, www.shortsvillereindeer.com to book a date/time.
The reindeer aren't sure what to make of the pre-bonfire music. See them at 8pm
