If you would like your birds DNA, tbis is a cheap route to go. 13.99 per bird. They have a lot of important health testings also.
Check them out!

Avian DNA Testing is the best choice for avian breeders and avian veterinaries. iQBiotech uses Molecular tools to pathogens identification.

This is a common sense type post from a friend.

Not aimed at everyone, just those who are new or fairly new to birds. Breeders have a lot on their plates, especially with the rising costs of bird feed. We do our best to raise quality birds as well as great pets and then we try to find great homes for them. We rely on each other a lot of times for word of mouth. I'm all about helping my bird friends as I have received plenty of help from them. Many breeders who have multiple breeder birds and different types of birds have a goal of feeding and homing these babies we care for quickly ...

1) Because once you wean and stop giving those babies so much attention, their temperaments begin to change. They can start to bluff and get aggressive because once they are weaned, we have other babies that require our attention. 2) With the rising costs of bird feed, it gets very costly to accumulate babies and feed and care for all the extra little mouths. So I believe we can all agree that we try to find good homes as soon as possible. With that being said, when clients request you to "hold them a little longer", not only do you run the risk of that bird starting to become aggressive, but the breeders are feeding them more, costing them more, while you get it at the same price. You may think. It's just a bird. It can't cost that much. You're wrong. It does. For 25 pounds of high protein bird feed (which doesn't last long) it can cost a breeder 60 to over 100 per bag depending on the brand. And that's just one type of feed. We use many including fresh produce.
You may also think a week or two or three may not affect the birds temperament. You're wrong there too. Most birds, not all, tend to become hand shy again if the breeder doesn't have the time required to play with them daily and keep them sweet. Make no mistake, it is a challenge for the breeders to do so when they have large flocks and a lot of babies to feed. One other point I'd like to make. When someone recommends a breeder to you, and you decide to wait to get your bird for whatever reason and your bird is not as tame as you would like when you finally get it...don't blame the breeder and don't set out on a mission to make the breeder and the person who made the recommendation miserable by harassing them and bad mouthing to others. We do keep a list of problem clients that we don't mind sharing. That includes those who don't have the ability to understand simple things as I just pointed out. I'm not posting this as a rant. Your breeders are tired. They don't get vacation time or even small amounts of time off. We do what we do to bring happiness to others and many times we are made to regret what we do or who we allow as clients. Not every bird is a perfect fit for every household, but I don't know any true breeder who won't work with clients to help them adjust or find a good fit for their home and family. Common courtesy and respect goes a long way but disrespecting good breeders and trying to make them look bad to others will get you on a naughty list quick. Just my point of views that I thought are worth sharing.
