Clara has left the building! 🎉

Three months spent taking care of you was worth every second, my girl. 🎀💗 You made it through times when I didn’t know if you would. From being so underweight and such a picky eater, to fighting panleukopenia very unexpectedly, and on top of all that having to deal with ringworm, you were such a little champ! Three months of sassiness, stubbornness, strength, and cuteness. I wouldn’t trade it for the world! You had an article written about you, your cute picture went viral, and so many internet friends fell in love with you. I hope your story inspires others to foster kittens in need and give them a fighting chance.

You’ve been the best and sweetest girly ever! You got to make so many friends: cats, kittens, dogs, people, and you loved every single one of them! You’re the best snuggler & playmate. I’m so lucky to have been able to foster you and help get you to this point. I hope you love your forever home and have the happiest days everyday! I love you, sq**rt! 💓💓💓

Brb gonna have a panic attack 🥰 Arthur JUST got his bandages changed by the way. And yes, that is p**p smeared on every crevice of my bathroom. And I just got home from pet sitting for the past 6 hours, directly after 8 hours of working my full time job & after 3 hours of pet sitting this morning. And I’ll be getting up at the crack of dawn to do it all over again for the next few days.

I’m dead inside. Goodnight. 😶

- he has bitten when he’s overstimulated or scared, so an understanding adopter(s) without young children would be best. However, he has not done this at all since being out of the foster room. He’s gaining a lot of confidence being out & about with his foster friends 🩵

We’re home! Arthur and Muffy are settling in 💕 I am in desperate need of kitten dry food, which can be found under “Gianna’s Amazon Wishlist” in our bio. Purina kitten beyond is preferred but it won’t let me add that to the wishlist. It also won’t let me add the fancy feast all naturals, but if anyone would like to send $12, I can purchase a case. Litter, weruva wet food, puppy pads, etc. are also needed but lower priority. The biggest priority is monetary donations to pay our vet bills! That helps the most right now 🙏

Change of plans… Arthur can’t get his leg amputated today because he has really bad pneumonia 🥲 his pre-op tests and x-rays showed pneumonia in his lungs & it wouldn’t be safe to put him under in that state. Unfortunately, that means he’s going to have to get his leg bandaged for now and re-evaluated in a couple weeks when the pneumonia (hopefully) clears up. He’ll get his bandage changed in a few days though.

His vet confirmed that he does have a fractured front leg as well that has already attempted to heal itself; it’s unable to be repaired and will just stay that way (similar to Rusty). Right now, he and Muffy are going to be on a few different medications to treat their pneumonia and potential lungworm. We’ll focus on getting these two healthy and then deal with Arthur’s leg 🥺

ARTHUR UPDATE! He is getting his leg amputated today! While there was a slight possibility of saving the part of his leg that is left, it would be a really rough recovery for him and it would likely lead to amputation in the future anyway. Recovery from amputation is much easier on him. We don’t need this boy to suffer any more than he already has, and I’d never want to put him through multiple surgeries if it’s not necessary. Amputation is not a bad thing — in this case, it’s a very good thing that he can get it done so quickly (remember, the same thing happened with Lester and he did amazing and still is!) Arthur is in a LOT of pain, considering his bone and tissue is exposed, and we have no idea how long he’s been like this for. He also has previous injuries to one of his front legs, so they will be doing X-rays to see what’s going on there and if there is a fracture. Please no comments about what YOU would have done if you had Arthur — this is best case scenario for him to feel better. Amputation is viewed so negatively sometimes, and it really shouldn’t be. Animals are extremely adaptable. We don’t need to prolong his pain, which is what would have happened if we opted not to amputate today.

His estimate for X-rays, surgery, neuter, meds, etc. is $2100-$2800 without our discount. Arthur may be able to come home tonight depending on how he recovers, or he may need to stay overnight. Muffy will be hanging with him for the day as well so that I can pick them both up at the same time.

The face of a girl who had a thousand people ask to adopt her when she was only 4-6 weeks old, when she had ringworm, and when she had panleuk … but now that she’s healthy & old enough to be adopted … crickets. 🙄 I wish even just one of those people had been serious about adopting her. It’s SO annoying tbh lol don’t be that person on social media.

DONATIONS NEEDED!!! These are the two babies we pulled from this morning. They are heading to the vet now! I decided to name our leggie boy Arthur & his friend Muffy. Arthur has a missing foot and bone/tissue is exposed, so that is the major concern here. I’m not sure if he will need surgery ASAP or something else, but stay tuned! We will see if there are any other issues that need to be addressed as well.

We are still needing to pay $2500 to this vet for Winston’s care from his hospitalization for calicivirus. Donations are desperately needed to help these babies!!!

DONATIONS NEEDED! We’re going to be pulling this sweet girl + her kennel mate tomorrow 🥲 our cousin Nina is going to grab them from the shelter and bring them right to the vet, so we are definitely in need of donations ASAP! We haven’t been able to fully pay off Winston’s hospitalization bills, but I just felt like we needed to help this girl. When the shelter said she had a friend who she was housed with and asked if we wanted to take them too, I couldn’t say no 🥺
