We have had a long standing history and support of John Deere but after they sold us pretty much goof proof insurance they we were made unable to use it. Corporate said both it and the warranty would cover the repair but since they didn't actually know who to charge they never made any repair. Essentially we were paying for insurance that they never fulfilled. After purchasing they also changed their promise that if any repairs were needed they would come to us. The shop that was authorized to do any repairs at the lot that sold us our tractor decided they would only do smaller tractors then expected us to haul the tractor two hours away and leave it with an undisclosed amount of time. On that day we decided we would never purchase new again. That said we may be switching our loyalty elsewhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a tractor for a larger about a 85 hp or greater?

The walls are closing in on John Deere and Company regarding its unwillingness to completely lift repair restrictions that prevent farmers from deciding who fixes their tractors when they break down. This program offers a unique opportunity to connect with other veteran-owned farms. We extend our deepest gratitude and recognition to current and former service members for their sacrifices. We express our appreciation, knowing that our own watch will eventually come to an end.

I acknowledge that my posting frequency has decreased, but rest assured that establishing our new location is a painstaking endeavor. While I occasionally reminisce about the simplicity of our previous under 3-acre farm, I remain committed to advocating for the protection of small-scale farming rights and empowering individuals to efficiently cultivate their own plots, thereby providing for their families. Recognizing the importance of securing our children's future, we opted to expand our operations. Those familiar with our values understand that our children's well-being is paramount. Bringing back the norm of a family plot has always been our dream. The challenges associated with restarting and establishing networks are substantial.

Nevertheless, I am excited to announce significant developments on the farm, including the introduction of new genetics, specifically SOP Cochin, mauve Silkie from a side project of a established show breeder and level 7-9 Black Copper Marans from esteemed breeders, representing a considerable investment of $80-100+ per dozen.

You came to our farm over 7yrs ago and truly left you prints on us all. We will forever hold dear your daughters and son. The autopsy was done and Surprise had pneumonia as we suspected. Even with our aggressive treatment unfortunately her body was just not strong enough to take the fight.

I came to her yesterday and gave more pain medicine and antibiotics prior to leaving. Unpronounced to me she took this time to say her goodbye. I walked to my truck and as I went to drive off I peeked in on her one last time to see she had passed. My heart truly broke. Surprise was our herd Queen and loved by all.

Surprise would have been 8yrs old in just a few months.

Our first set of meat birds made their way to freezer camp. While this may be hard for some I would like to say just how comforting it is to know we have been given the gift to provide.
24 Cornish Crosses purchased unfortunately one was found to take more of the leghorn traits over the Cornish. As a result she should cross well in the freedom rangers pen. Then we lost one to a stray cat.

With 22 Cornish Crosses being broken down and deboned we ended up with 80lbs of straight meat. Which we contribute to postponing processing day till the weather was more suitable to do so.

Here are some challenges I found while coming from Washington State to South Carolina that I would do differently.

⭐Water consumption was greatly increased this may be contributed to warmer weather 🌡️ so here is how I would approach this next go.
I would switch to a converted 55 gallon barrel to save from having to constantly verify and keep water available. Those 5 gallon gravity waterers just don't cut it.
I would freeze jugs to keep a consistent cooler watering option. To prevent algae growth I would place a copper pipe in the barrel.

⭐ Another thing I would do is look into strong solar fans to help keep the tractors cooler
