Meet the new addition to the family, Ellie!!

After rattling off names, my boyfriend happened to be playing Last of Us and I said, “what about Ellie?” and it just fits! Ellie is the name of one of the main characters in the game (which is now a TV show).

I didn’t know that the character’s full name was Ellie Williams when I named her. But my cat’s name is Ellie Williamson!

She was born June 10, 2025 and was adopted October 7, 2025. She is currently 4 months old!

She is super chill, curious, and a champion sleeper!
She is a domestic medium hair and I hope she grows up to be a beautiful fluffy cat.

July 4th/July 5th - 3yrs ago was a horrible 4th of July.

3yrs ago my dog wouldn’t stay with my mom and wanted to be with me and my boyfriend in the garage. My mom usually closes the windows and sit with her in her walk in closet with some music. That helped. But she was freaking out. We tried to calm her but nothing really helped.

Around 3:30am, she was drinking water (and have been drinking tons of water the past couple days) and she suddenly collapsed!

We took her to the emergency vet and the vet said that she was lucky she didn’t die cause it could have been a blood clot that passed (in her body) and might have gone to her heart or lungs which could be fatal.
She might have been fine and her primary vet would have been able to give her something to get rid of or make the clot smaller safely, if it wasn’t because of her panicking due to fireworks, her heart pumping faster and stronger, and her lungs working harder, that wasn’t an option.

After accessing her, the vet came back with a diagnosis, Hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer of the blood vessels. She must have had it for a while but after her last yearly checkup cause she was healthy last time the vet checked her (but that was a year ago). The vet also said that she had a mass around her heart and a lot of fluid around it as well. So the vet put her under and drained the fluid from around her heart.

She was sent home with medications. But unfortunately, she collapsed again in mid-August and we decided it was too stressful on her to drain the fluid again and put her under again, so my mom took her to the vet and she passed there. She was 11 years old (5 months away from her 12th Bday).

Rosey was such a good dog! She was the best dog I ever met and I loved her so much! She was also the first and only dog I ever owned! (i might get another Golden Retriever in the future)

But fireworks indeed stress the hell out of pets and although they may not get hurt by an actual firework(s), what the fireworks cause - the panicking, stress, escaping, destroying everything, etc. - can definitely kill a pet.

I am so sorry for anyone who had to deal with negative s**t when it comes to family &/or their pets (who are family too) after 4th of July!

Creating a new website as you read this

Yesterday was an extremely hard day for my mom and I. During the night, Rosey was drinking water and then collapsed. She couldn’t get back up. She tried to get up again to go outside but fell again. My boyfriend and I carried her to the grass and she laid down and watched the bunny eating grass. Her breathing was very labored. We stayed up all night with her, petting her and telling her how much we loved her.

In the morning, my mom took her to the vet and she went to go visit Stuart, my cat who we had to put down last year.
Rosey would’ve been 12 in December.

Rosey has cancer of the blood vessels and 3 weeks ago, she had liquid drained from the area around her heart. We would spend time with her, sit outside with her to watch the bunnies, and have her sleep next to us in her bed. But over the last 3 weeks, the fluid came back and the mass on her heart grew. The doctor said she must’ve thrown a clot, causing her not to be able to stand anymore.

It was time.

She didn’t suffer and I’m really grateful that she didn’t. I miss her so much already. She was one of the best dogs I ever knew. All she wanted to do was please, love, and just be a part of everything. I’ll miss going on adventures with her but I’ll remember all the ones we had. Now she’s with her kitty brother, Stuart, and her horse sister, Sadie.
I love you, Rosey. Now you can go run after bunnies in Heaven again. ❤️

Rosey, you gave me the best experience of ever having a dog. You are the most sweetest, loyal, and behaving dog I ever met! I love you so much and I’m so sorry we waited this long to find out what was going on. We figured it was just old age until it got worse.

Rosey wasn’t feeling good before 4th of July but was ok. But on the 4th, she freaked out so badly, her heart couldn’t take the stress. On the 5th, she could barely get up to drink water and collapsed. She could get up to go to the bathroom but i put her water bowl next to her so she could drink water. Her gums were very pale, a bad sign. Fortunately, the next morning we had a vet appointment where they did a senior blood panel which came back yesterday showing something was wrong.
This morning my mom took Rosey to VSEC, an emergency hospital in Thousand Oaks. They ran some tests (x-ray, ultrasound, echocardiogram, etc...). They found fluid around her heart which they drained. Unfortunately the vet called and said Rosey has a tumor on her heart and the cancer may had spread to her lungs. Because of her symptoms, it is late stage. The best we can do now is make her comfortable until it is time.

This year has been a tough one for me since it has been a year without my baby boy. I miss his cuddles and purrs. Yesterday would’ve been a year since he passed. Today, he would’ve been 19 years old. Happy birthday in Heaven, Stuart. I know you are always with me but I miss you and love you so much. ❤️🐱
