Stephanie’s journey has been one of triumph and loss. Sometimes saying goodbye to beloved horses can make it hard to love another, but Cici has certainly done a wonderful job of filling the holes in our hearts left by Preacher and Bob. I’ve loved watching Stephanie and Cici grow as a team and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow. 🥂

🏆Novice Amateur High Point Champion🏆

I said I’d wait to post full results until we had our win pics… but some announcements deserve an immediate release. And this, this is one of them.

KWSH is proud to announce that Rylee Lambert and Gentlemen Send Chocolate were named the 2024 Pinto Novice Amateur High Point Champions! (Excuse me while I dab my eyes.)

I couldn’t be more proud of this team’s hard work and determination to get to this point. So many times we work hard and do our best, but the pieces don’t come together when it matters most. But other times, things work out better than our wildest dreams. This was one of those mountain top moments and I’m very grateful to be a part of it. Congratulations you two - this was so well-deserved!

I love this metaphor for human learning, but it doesn’t just apply to humans. Indeed, every horse learns differently and has different natural skills. The goals of any trainer should be: (1) to open the line of communication between you and your horse to make sure they know what is being asked of them and (2) determine their strengths so that you are investing your training efforts wisely. You can have hopes for what your horse will do, but even the most gifted trainers cannot fit a square peg into a round hole.

I’m so proud to extend a huge congratulations to Stephanie Russell and her AQHA mare She’s All Batt (“CiCi”) on a fantastic Gold N Grand spring show!

They are coming home with 5 buckles and the Limited Amateur Saddle. This accomplishment has been in the making for a while and there have been many highs and lows along the way. I’m so proud of Stephanie for her hard work, determination, and for how much love she puts into her horses. Congrats girl! What a show!

Marley finished as Reserve Circuit Champion in the Junior Western Pleasure. She was a RWC in both the 2yo Western Pleasure and 2yo Hunter Under Saddle at the 2022 Pinto World Show and she is continuing her winning ways for her owner out in California. We couldn’t be s’more proud of you guys!

I love this quote and find it so relevant to training horses. Many aspects of training are out of your control. But if you do right by the horse, respect the owner, and adjust your sails to reach attainable goals, everyone wins!
