There has been a dog flu going around Siouxland. If your dog is coughing, sneezing, not eating or running a fever please reschedule your appointment. This is a pretty strong and aggressive virus. We are disinfecting and cleaning but we need your help to keep this at bay.
If you feel your dog is sick please seek veterinary care.

Sadly it is tick time!! I pulled 5 off a dog today.
There are a few things a pet parent can do to help keep these nasty creepy things off their fur kids and off of themselves.
1. If your fur kids have long hair get it cut so you can see the icky things
2. Treat your pet with proven and vet recommended products to kill the icky bugs
3. After going for a walk make sure to check yourself for the icky little things. I use cheap dog flea and tick spray on my clothes to help keep them too.

When I pull off live ticks I submerge them in rubbing alcohol or flea and tick spray, then flush down the toilet.
