Some of the most beautiful pups joined our herd yesterday 8/17 and today 8/18!

Born 8/17/23 we have 1 Black Coronet Boar from Pippa x Bartleby. ❤️

Born 8/18/23 we have 3 Broken Red Werewolf/Skinny pups from Peach x Phineas. 2 Sows and 1 Boar. ❤️

Everyone is perfectly healthy and happy 🙏🏼

I have 5 gorgeous, purebred Abyssinian Guinea Pig pups who are weaned and ready for new families!

3 Boars (males) 2 Sows (females). They are littermates.

3 Brindles, 1 Red Roan & 1 Tri Roan (Red Roan isn’t pictured).

These guys would make great pets, 4H projects or breeding prospects! This is the third time I’ve paired their parents together and they produce gorgeous kiddos every time.

Reservations for Ginger + Bartley’s beautiful Coronet sow “Lily” opened at 11am this morning and she was reserved by 11:08am! Love love love when my babies find their perfect families so quickly! 🥲🖤

Throw back to 2020 when a baby was born with her mums missing black patch 😍 we named her mummy’s missing puzzle piece 🥰

Hay glorious hay!!
Hay makes up over 80% of your piggy’s diet and should be given unlimited! In huge piles on ground level, for them to root through, play in, tunnel, sleep in and yes go to the toilet in! Throwing away hay is not a waste! Hay is not just food and the quicker we realise this the happier our pigs will be.
Hay should be sweet smelling free of any damp smell, a mix of green, yellows and golds in colour. And long strands so the back teeth are chewing and keeping trim! Long strands also help to create an open ball in the stomach reducing the risks of Bloat. I always give fresh hay with vegetables to make sure the stomach is digesting well.
No piggy should ever need to take more than a few steps to reach hay. A pig without hay for even just a few short hours can go into gut stasis and this can be fatal! So top up that hay! Pile it in!
Here is a photo of my gorgeous hay I picked up this morning for my pigs from my local feed store! You can see how fresh it looks! And so green compared to the straw next to it!

Reba, Dill & Cilantro are now off with their new families 💕

Thyme meets his new family this evening 🥰

Sage will be traveling to her new family in a week 🚗

And the last of our Abyssinian babies, Jolene & Rosemary will be traveling home in January (their new family is coming all the way from Utah! 😱)
