📣Exciting news, everyone! 📣

❄️With this chilly cold snap, we’ve got some AMAZING news to share! Gause Boulevard Veterinary Hospital is stepping up to sponsor the remaining $45 adoption fee for the first 10 foster fail adoptions! They’re all about giving these precious pets a chance to settle in and find their forever homes!

That’s right—if you’re one of the first 10 foster fails, your adoption fee is COMPLETELY waived!!

A huge shoutout to Gause Boulevard Veterinary Hospital and a big THANK YOU to all our incredible cold snap fosters! Let’s make the Sneaux 2025 season filled with foster fails and happy tails! 🐾❤️

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support in caring for these animals. Given the ongoing extreme cold weather, we ask if you would continue fostering the dogs until Monday, January 27, 2025.

❤️🐾We would love to see pictures, videos, updates, and a brief bio of your cold snap buddy in the comments. Your contributions can make a significant difference in these animals getting adopted.

🔵⭐️Additionally, during the period of January 27, 2025, to February 1, 2025, all COLD SNAP DOG BUDDIES fostered during the current cold snap will have their adoption fee reduced by $45.00! We are hopeful for some foster fails and happy tails!🐾❤️

❄️ Announcement from the Animal Assistance League of Slidell and the Slidell Animal Control and Shelter ❄️

We will continue to be closed through Wednesday due to snowy and icy road conditions.

We hope you’re keeping warm and staying safe in this cold weather! Please stay tuned for updates, as there may be further closures.

🐾🥶Brrr... the weather outside is going to be freezing cold! ❄️ The temperatures will be dangerously low for animals to be left outside, especially small and short hair animals.

We urge everyone to ensure that their animals are brought indoors. Let's also remember to check on our neighbors and their pets. Remember, if we feel cold, they feel it too. Let's all keep our furry friends safe and warm during this chilly time.🐾🥶

✅If you see a dog without proper shelter for an extended period of time and live within the city limits of Slidell, please CALL the Slidell Police Department’s non-emergency number, (985) 643-3131.

✅Outside the city limits of Slidell, considered St. Tammany Parish, please call Animal Services at 985-809-0183. OR the non-emergency number for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-898-2338.

Please take pets indoors!

One thing I want to point out is the Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will probably be the coldest because of the snowpack on the ground. It’s like being in an ice chest so that night after the storm a significant drop in temperatures will occur. This is when 14-24° temperatures will be possible where we have ice/snow on the ground.

❄️⭐️☁️UPDATE- as of 11:28, Saturday, January 18, we still have 8 dogs waiting for their cold snap buddy!⭐️❄️☁️

❄️☁️⭐️UPDATE-as of 10:43 am, Saturday, January 18, there are still 9 dogs waiting to be a cold snap buddy! ❄️☁️⭐️. We need 9️⃣ more families to help!

❄️🐾☁️⭐️As of Saturday, January 18, we have about 10-14 dogs still needing a foster home during this cold weather snap. The AAL volunteers will be at the shelter today, Saturday the 18th, at 10am. to help find homes for the remaining dogs at the shelter.

🔵Please note, the volunteers are UNABLE to answer the phone so we ask everyone who is interested in fostering to please come to the shelter in person. 😊🐾❄️⭐️

🔵 Also, today Saturday, January 18 will be the last day to foster BEFORE the cold snap. The shelter is closed on Sundays, as with city offices, the shelter has a scheduled closing Monday, January 20, for MLK day. Tuesday, January 21, the shelter will also be closed due to inclement weather. Please come to the shelter today, Saturday, January 18, to help the remaining animals. 🐾❄️❤️

⭐️🐾❤️After more than 4️⃣5️⃣5️⃣ days at the shelter, Witcher has finally found his forever home! Previously known as a cold snap buddy, he’s now a “foster fail happy tails” with a joyful new name: Whiskey Adams. Throughout his long wait, he never lost hope, and now his dreams have come true. Whiskey Adams is overjoyed to have this moment, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to his foster family for making it a reality!❄️⭐️❤️

UPDATE ADOPTED❤️

🐾🐕⭐️Meet Beau, a stunning 9-month-old Retriever Mix who truly lives up to his beautiful name, both inside and out! Unfortunately, his previous family was unable to care for him, so they brought him to the shelter in search of a new home. Beau is great with kids, but since he wasn't raised as a house dog, he hasn't learned house training just yet. However, he's very intelligent, and we're confident he’ll pick up that skill quickly! We’d love for him to find a family that will welcome him indoors as part of their lives. Beau adores attention and gets along well with other dogs. He's playful, charming, and has an adorable little superhero mask! Come meet Beau today—he’s a fantastic dog!🐾⭐️🐕
