● Axolotls can live 10-15 years with proper care.
● To calculate tank size recommended, you'll want 20 gallons for the first axolotls
● When getting a filter, size up or double the size needed.
● They live in cool water. 60-67 degree water is best. Above 70 degrees can cause
stress.
● Low flow filters, like sponge filters are recommended or any filter that you can
adjust the flow rate.
● Bare bottom is recommended for axolotls under 5 inches.
● Bigger axolotls can be put on super fine sand.
● Gravel and rocks are not recommended for axolotls of any size.
● The only safe rocks are rock TWICE the size of an adult axolotls head or
siliconed down.
● Axolotls do not have eyelids so bright light can stress them out.
● They love hides. PVC pipes make great hides and comes in many sizes.
● Seachem Prime is a great water conditioner, but water treatment that removes
