We require an application, a vet reference check, personal reference check, a home visit and an adoption fee.

READY FOR ADOPTION! We cannot understand why this beautiful girl hasn't been adopted yet! She is a perfect Dane! Berkeley is 6 years old and is the sweetest, most well mannered big girl ever! She loves to go on walks and play with her stuffed animals. In her foster home she enjoys getting attention from the 5 year old and 11 year old that live there. She gets along great with the cat and small dog that are in her foster home. Berkeley is VERY well behaved, completely house broken, doesn’t get into anything she’s not supposed to, and only chews her bully sticks. She knows all her basic commands and is a great listener. She’s a bit leery of new people, but a slow approach and some reassurance and she becomes very accepting and relaxed. Berkeley would be an amazing addition to a family looking for a chill Great Dane. She is healthy, spayed and UTD on vaccines. She is being fostered in the Atlanta area.

Dogs currently in SSGDR foster homes:
1) Gabby - 5 month old fawn female pulled from a shelter as a stray. Sweet girl who, like most puppies, needs work on basic training and manners. UTD on vaccines. Will need to be spayed prior to adoption.
2) Stella Rose - 1.5 year old Merle female transferred to us by a non-breed specific rescue. Loves everyone and everything. House trained, UTD on vaccines, needs to be spayed prior to adoption.
3) Berkeley- 6 yr old, black female that is a well behaved, kind-hearted lady. Gets along with everything and loves people. Chill dane that will fit in to any home. UTD on vaccines, spayed and ready to find her forever home.
4) Zeus - 2 yr old, big mantle boy. Was adopted 3 months ago and recently returned because he "has too much energy." Super loving, wants to please, but needs strong boundaries and leadership. Needs a fenced yard to run and preferably another dog to play with to help get his energy out. Good with older children, cats and dogs, but NOT good with farm animals.

Congratulations to Livy! She was adopted by her foster family and we are so happy to announce this foster fail! Livy came to us as an anxious puppy that was nervous around people and even scared to go outside. Her foster parents have been so loving and patient. With their help and the confidence nurturing she got from her foster doggie siblings she had made great strides! We are excited for more progress and a bright future for this sweet girl!

MOOSE IS READY FOR ADOPTION! Moose is 15 months old and very much a big puppy. He is up-to-date on vaccines and has been neutered and had a gastropexy. Moose LOVES all people, other dogs and cats. He would enjoy a home with larger dogs that he can play with! Moose has no food aggression and eats around the other dogs in his foster home with no issues. After eating, he enjoys lounging on the couch or in someone’s lap! He is house trained and does great in his crate when his foster parents leave.
Moose happily sleeps soundly through the night on his dog bed but would gladly join you in the people bed if given the opportunity. He knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. Moose is very tall and sometimes likes to counter surf. His foster parents are working on teaching him to “Leave It” and he is doing great!
Moose has discovered that ice is delicious and will beg whenever he hears ice coming out of the fridge door. Fortunately, he has not learned to get it on his own. . . yet. 😉 This boy will make you laugh often with his antics and it is amazing the way he can contort his body to get on your lap.

MOOSE IS READY FOR ADOPTION! Moose is 13 months old and very much a big puppy. He is up-to-date on vaccines and has been neutered and had a gastropexy. Moose LOVES all people and other dogs too. He would enjoy a home with larger dogs that he can play with! There is a cat in his foster home that he pesters sometimes, but he doesn’t harm her, even when she stands up to him. Moose has no food aggression and eats around the other dogs in his foster home with no issues. After eating, he enjoys lounging on the couch or in someone’s lap! He is house trained and does great in his crate when his foster parents leave.
