FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Cubeit Hay Company would like to address the ongoing situation involving cubing companies & the presumptive outbreak of botulism in Colorado. We feel in order to best address the concerns of cube users everywhere, we need to start at the beginning in order to explain the process of manufacturing. Please follow this as a general guideline and resource for education in order to learn more about the way a cube is manufactured. It is common to sometimes find hair or a piece of a foreign object in any cube of ANY brand as it is sourced from a bale, and has been baled in the field. When bales are broken down to be used for the cubing process, we may find a reminant of a small animal, hay twine, ect that has gotten in the bale. Just like the baled forage that you most likely have used in the past, this can happen. Cube companies, no matter the brand of cube, always make a valid & exhausting attempt to find these things & remove before beginning the cubing process. However, try as we all may, you can miss some of it and the remains go into the chopper, which end up in the cuber and are steamed into the final product. Our company runs thousands of tons of alfalfa per week. Although rare, its does happen from time to time.
Today, we have received inbox messages that have asked about Cubeit being a potential part of the presumptive question of botulism in Colorado & also customer questions about where our hay is sourced. The answer is we have no connection to Colorado nor is our company a part of that ongoing discovery process. We are a family owned business using only hay we either grow ourselves or that is sourced here in Idaho. We do buy additional hay when needed but only from the same local suppliers that we've been doing business with for years. Also we are proud to ALWAYS use the current years hay crop (GRADE 1) so there is no chance of blending different qualities of hay, or hay that is not the same grade that has been stored and/or older than the current season. Adding here--there are so many variables to the Colorado situation that have not been discussed & in discovery at this point for the hay companies involved. As member of the cubing industry ourselves, our support goes out to the horse owners, and also to the cubing companies. It's a heartbreaking and frustrating situation in every direction. Please remember before taking to the keyboard, we need to be diligent and mindful of spreading inaccuracies or contributing to the anxiety of those who could be affected. We love our job here at Cubeit. We take pride in our product and our production. We work hard to . Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about cubes or visit our website at www.CubeitHay.com for information & dealer locations near you. We appreciate and thank you for your business!!
