This is a very rewarding message!! It has been said that, "People want their dog's behavior to change, but aren't willing to change their own behavior." Often, even in the best training situations, it is challenging to get the owners to really put forth dedicated effort to develop their dog. Sarah had nothing close to "the best training situation." She had a couple very serious dogs that almost killed each other. I don't know many people that would have had the dedication, courage, and patience to take on the task she faced... and is conquering!!! I am so proud of the effort and sacrifice Sarah is making for the benefit of her dogs. She is inspiring.

K9 Barrett of Brink's K-9 Training visited the Somerset Builder's Club for a session of detection training. The facility has a myriad of rooms and nooks and crannies to challenge Barrett and his ability to find his targets. We'd like to express our sincere appreciation to Eric Peterson for offering the Somerset Builder's Club facility for Barrett to further develop his skills. Training is very important, but sometimes you just need K9 therapy. Olivia and Nick had a traumatic week. Astro did a great job during our session but, this time, it was incredibly satisfying to just see the loving bond and connection being made and enjoyed by this family. Dogs don't judge or criticize, they just share the moment. We could learn a lot from them.

** Open Days/Hours (Until Sell Out):

Mon - Weds: CLOSED
Thursday: 12pm - Dark
Fri - Sat: 10am - Dark
Sunday: 10am - 4pm

** Offerings:

Trees: Pre-Cut, Choose & Cut, Dug/B&B (pricing same as past 2 years)
Evergreen Decor: Wreaths, Grave Blankets, Pillows, Swags, etc.
Gift Shop: Christmas lights, Tree stands & bags, Wrappily eco-friendly wrapping paper, MI Gardener seed packets, Local homemade/handmade gifts, Kids gifts/games, Candles, NovelTree apparel, etc!

** Important Note:

Our area experienced historical drought this Summer/Fall, and I am personally not sure what exactly to expect as far as if/how it may affect our trees and greenery decor when it comes to freshness/longevity/needle retention/etc. We do not use any sprays/additives on our trees or greens for artificial preservation, nor do we carry any such products for sale at our location. I do not anticipate a huge difference/effect, especially considering my greens that are left outside last literally all Winter and even Spring long, but I can’t help but assume we all may need to put a little extra effort toward watering trees and keeping indoor/hanging decor as cool and damp as possible. This will be a learning year for us all! I will not be able to feasibly facilitate returns/refunds of any products due to potential needle loss. I can assure that all of my products are cut as freshly as I possibly can manage while still allowing myself time to provide enough items for the very short few weeks of sales opportunity!

I’ll be totally honest and admit that I discovered the Do Not Disturb setting on my phone a couple years ago before tree season and haven’t turned it off since! My phone can be extremely distracting to me when I’m busy and have a lot of stuff to focus on and get done, most especially during the holiday season, and with my phone number being associated with a business I get a ton of spam calls and messages all the time as well. My productivity is so much better since not having constant phone interruptions. Most incoming calls go directly to my voicemail where I request text messages if at all possible. Social media messages are the next best avenue. I will do my best to respond as soon as I have time to, but I do a lot better with visual communications than audio only and can remember/look back on them so much easier than if I have to try to run and find a pen and paper to write something down someone told me on the phone. My apologies for any inconvenience due to difficulty reaching me via voice calls, but this is what works best for me and my business, and I appreciate your patience and understanding!

This puppy is a heart stealer❤️!! We have allowed our foster dog, Samson, time to decompress and just see how life in the Brink household works. Now it is time for him to really get started on his development. He is getting a ton of experience and exposure. He seems to be a confident pup that loves his pack. He is great in the car and in his crate. He has a good handle on housebreaking if the owners do their part. He is great with our dogs and our cat. He is mannerly at feeding time and loves to snuggle. Samson will bring a lot of happiness to some lucky family.

We welcome Tracey, Jeremy, and Goose to the Brink's K-9 Training family. Their goal is to develop this puppy into a good member of their pack. I have so much admiration for dog owners who choose to train their dog BEFORE problems arise. I like to say, "It is easiest to defuse a bomb BEFORE it explodes." Train them early and avoid the problems all together.

Tucker's owners were struggling with this crazy, high energy bundle of love. They have a young baby and are concerned about Tucker's wild bursts of energy and demands to participate. Combining some leash management with teaching Tucker impulse control, Tucker is already learning how to be a better member of his household and a better walking partner.

Samson, our foster puppy, is developing very well. We are starting to work on his off-leash reliability and it is very helpful to have Barrett and Wi******er to manage the process. Here, my three farm hands make the rounds with me as we wind things down for the day.

This past Friday Brink's K-9 Training had a great opportunity to do some detection training with Barrett. Linda Walters and The New Straitsville Public Library generously offered their facility to provide realistic training for Barrett. Training in realistic environments like this is incredibly valuable to developing our skills. We are so appreciative of Ms. Walters and The New Straitsville Public Library for their generosity and willingness help Barrett with his detection training.

I really love catching dogs in our PSA training!! There is something exhilarating about a seventy pound fur missle flying at me to sink its teeth in my bicep.🤣 The dogs are very grateful for my efforts also! For example, today Snitch, a Dutch Shepherd I love to catch, launched himself into me AND he high fived my face as a thank you.🤣
