Adoptable Dog of the Week, PEACHES!! 🍑🧡

Peaches was found as a stray and is currently in the care of Providence Animal Control. She is estimated to be about 6 years young and it’s believed that she has lived in a home before - according to her caretakers, she is very sweet, well-mannered and house trained!

Adoptable Dog of the Week, BRUNO!! 🐶♥️

Bruno is just a little guy who only 9.5 lbs but he’s got the personality and energy of a bigger dog. He’s a sweet little man who loves nothing more than rolling in your lap for a belly rub or running circles in the yard while chasing a squeaky toy. Bruno loves squeaky toys and he tends to stash them in his bed for safe keeping. Being such a small dog in such a big world, Bruno is shy when meeting new people and can take a little bit of time to warm up. Bruno is looking for an adult only home and has no experience with dogs or cats.

Adoptable Dog of the Week, BARNABY JONES!! 🐶♥️

Barnaby requires a dog savvy family with experience. He just spent his 2nd birthday in a cage and our hearts are breaking for him. He is a handsome, male, Bloodhound mixed breed. He is good with other dogs (pending a successful meet and greet). His ideal home would not have children under 12 or cats. He’s a very good boy that just needs a chance. He is up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered.

Adoptable Dog of the Week, WALLY!! 🐶♥️

Wally is a young, Great Dane mixed breed. He’s goofy, sweet, intelligent, and friendly. Wally loves people, and takes his treats very gently. Wally’s kind eyes always seem to be watching and waiting for his turn to go for a walk. When he sees that leash, his whole body wiggles, his face lights up, and he does a little happy dance with those long legs of his.

This big boy is super smart and loves learning new things. He’s been working hard on his loose leash walking skills, as well as some other basic obedience and is making great progress! If treats are involved, Wally is ready to perform!!

Wally will be happiest as the only pet. Due to his size, we feel he can join a home with older children (older 10+). He may look serious in his photos, but he’s really a happy go lucky guy!

Adoptable Dog of the Week, SUZIE!! 🐶♥️

Suzie is so happy to have a second chance! This sweet puppy was found in a ditch in Antigua in January after being hit by a car. She spent the next 4 months in a shelter and eventually made her way to . Unfortunately, Suzie is paralyzed from the waist down but that doesn’t stop her from being playful and happy!

Suzie is only 1-2 years old and she weighs 35lbs.
Suzie is great with other dogs and would love a playmate. She loves toys and chewbones. We try to keep her occupied with Kongs and food puzzles as well. The most important thing for Suzie is keeping her legs/thigh/groin area clean and protected. Suzie would love a home where she can get a lot of attention and physical activity.

Suzie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full bloodwork and saw a neurologist. She is available for adoption through - if you think Suzie is the right dog for you, please contact them directly or fill out an adoption for on their website!! 🏠🐾

One of the most common misconceptions among dog owners is the idea that as dogs grow older, they mature into the well mannered pets. Without structure and boundaries you will likely end up with a big dog having puppy tendencies. Let’s start with chewing up household items… Puppies, explore the world with their mouth. Many get joy in destroying things like pillows, wood, shoes and rugs! It gives them an outlet for energy and it is an interactive mind game for them. The actual behavior of chewing is a rewarding behavior for most dogs. What to do instead… -Provide your puppy with his own toys and redirect him to these objects. -Give them exercise for mental and physical stimulation. -Crate him so he can’t chew inappropriate items when unsupervised.
