Dr. Nancy Morris received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology in 1985 where she graduated Magna Cum laude. The American Society of Clinical Pathologists certified her as a Medical Technologist (MT). She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 1990 from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Morris spent the next y

ear at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital interning in small animal medicine and surgery. In 1997, Dr. Morris returned to Angell and completed her residency in cardiology and she is a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in Cardiology. She has also been active in cardiovascular research. In 2004 she completed a multi-center FDA/CVM clinical trial for a new Phosphododiesterase III inhibitor drug (Pimobendan) to treat congestive heart failure in dogs. She has served as a consultant to biotech, medical device manufactures and pharmaceutical development companies. She has been active in clinical research in Doberman Pinschers since 2005. Investigations in Dobermans include: Prospective screening of 200 Doberman Pinschers to determine the clinical utility of the NT-pro BNP test as a screening tool to detect occult dilated cardiomyopathy, which was presented at the 2009 conference of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Morris is currently ( 2019) working in collaboration with Dr Amara Estrada DVM, DACVIM Cardiology, and Dr. Ryan Fries DVM, DACVIM Cardiology on a clinical research project entitled Epigenetic and Genetic factors Associated with Cardiomyopathy in the Doberman Pinscher.
