The Nevada Humane Society recently assisted in a large-scale rescue effort of nearly 300 abused dogs and puppies in Nye County. While many rescued dogs were taken to different parts of the country to rehabilitate or be adopted, many found their forever homes in our local region of Northern Nevada.

WARNING! We've received reports of coyote activity in the area. To protect your pets, keep cats inside and walk dogs on leash. Carrying a noise-maker while walking your dog is also recommended. Small dogs and cats should not be left unattended outside.

Coyotes aren't the only threat cats face when they go outside. When you allow your cat to roam freely outdoors, even for short periods of time, you expose them to perils such as cars, dogs, and coyotes. If you want your cat to be safe, keep them indoors.

Oliver is looking for a furever home. He is a 2-3 year old male French bull dog. Great house dog, loves all people and kids. Oliver has some behavioral issue and need the right owner. Oliver displays aggressive behavior towards dogs and cats. So he will have to be an only dog for now. I have worked with Oliver on his aggression. His behavior is definitely fixable but will take time and as I said the right owner mindset to improve his behavior. Oliver has bounced around from family to family and we would like to find him a permanent home. Keep in mind adopting Oliver will take commitment on your behalf. Whoever does adopt Oliver will get a free dog training lesson to be sure to continue his training to improve his behavior.
