Huron River Equine Veterinary Services, PLLC provides quality, on-the-farm care to horses in Wayne, Oakland, Livingston, and Washtenaw Counties. I'm Dr. Hillary Lobar, the solo practitioner of Huron River Equine. I am a 2013 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. As a veterinarian, I know that to us “horse people,” our horses are our lives. They are friends in

tough times, our partners out on the trails, our teammates in competitive endeavors, and in many cases, the living, breathing embodiment of a life-long dream. Taking care of horses is the reason that I have founded Huron River Equine. The mission of Huron River Equine is to put the horse first--to offer high quality, compassionate veterinary care at affordable prices; to emphasize the complete well-being of the horse as an athlete, partner, and friend; to empower owners using a team-oriented, evidenced-based approach; and to protect and preserve the human-horse bond. I offer routine preventative care, including vaccination, strategic deworming and parasite control, EIA (Coggins) testing, annual physical exams, geriatric screening, and state-of-the-art mechanized dentistry. Work-ups for lameness, chronic conditions, and other concerns are also available by appointment. Though the horses are the main focus of Huron River Equine, on-the-farm care is also available for sheep and goats, as well as other species on a case-by-case basis. Emergency care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, provided by me personally or through pre-arranged coverage with other veterinarians. Client-centered scheduling including evening and weekend appointments is available at no extra cost. Beginning in mid-January 2016, limited services will also be available for companion animals, including vaccination, parasite management, heartworm testing, and screening bloodwork. Keeping the other animals on the farm happy and healthy helps keep horses safe and healthy, too! Please contact me today (phone 248-707-1098) to schedule an appointment! For your convenience, prescriptions are available from the practice's inventory or from my on-line pharmacy. Over-the-counter animal care products are also stocked by the online pharmacy at competitive prices. Check it out at http://huronriverequine.vetsfirstchoice.com.
