The Agway name was established in 1964 when 3 of the largest farmer cooperatives in the Northeast merged to form the single largest coop from Maine to Virginia. The name "Agway" was chosen for it's meaning...."Agricultural Way". In the year 2000 all company owned stores were sold to private individuals allowing each location to really tailor their offerings to meet the needs and wants of the local community.

Dave and Val Cichanowicz of Southold purchased the Southold location in March of 2000 and as the number of active farms on the North Fork dwindled, the "Chick's" adapted and expanded to offer the finest plant material, yard stuff and pet supplies to the local community. It's a fun and rewarding experience! Enjoy the ride!
