Did you know there is a definite difference between a male and female? Well there truly is!

 Male vs. Female

Does a male or a female make a better pet for you and your family?

It’s not uncommon for people to believe that a female dog will make a better pet. We get a lot of calls for people wanting that “special little girl”. For whatever reason they don’t think that females will exhibit “alpha” behaviors like hu***ng and/or marking. A lot of people think that females are more passive and friendly and that they don’t take part in fighting over dominance, which could NOT be farther from the truth. If you check out the structure of dog packs, the females determine the pecking order and rule the roost. The result of that behavior is that the females become more stubborn, independent, and territorial than the males. These females are much more intent on exercising their control by participating in that “alpha” behavior like hu***ng. Most fighting will usually break out between two females.

Males tend to be more affectionate, exuberant, attentive, and even more demanding of attention. The males are very attached to their owners, tending to be more dedicated, reliable and less temperamental. They are more sociable, more accepting of other pets, playful for years, and take quicker to children. Most boys are easily motivated by treats/food, words of praise and are so eager to please that training actually becomes easier. Their playful nature, however, can make males more easily distracted. The boys are more likely to act silly and more puppy-like, always wanting to play games, no matter what their age. The boys are fun-loving until the day they die, whereas girls tend to be more standoffish and dignified the older they get.

Neutered males rarely exhibit secondary sexual behavior such as marking and lifting their legs or hu***ng. Once the testosterone levels recede after neutering, most of these behaviors will disappear if they ever existed. Boys who were neutered early (by five months of age) usually don’t ever raise their leg to urinate. Early spay or neutering is not best for your dog ! Please do your research and consult your vet!!

So before making your decision on that age old dilemma of male verses female, hopefully this will give you some helpful info to think about.

The biggest favor you could do for your favorite breeder is to recommend them to future families looking for a puppy. I would say most of the serious adopters I come by is from word of mouth from families who know me or have one of my puppies.
A healthy puppy, a good experience, thorough communication, and be as transparent as possible are my goals.
And without wonderful families like you, I would not be able to do what I love ❤️❤️

(please understand that although the joy that bringing new pups Into families lives is something unmatched, there is also stress and devastation that is really hard to come back from)

So please, take a second and send a shout out to any breeders you love, be quick to recommend them, and don’t be afraid to send updates of your furry family members, bc it’s so satisfying to see these once babies, all grown up. ❤️❤️

The fluffy corgi of our dreams😍 Critter brings so much to the table. He has the sweetest temperament and gets along so well with other dogs. He also has great conformation and will pass on some awesome pieces to his offspring! We love his stocky legs and big feet along with his head and ear set. We are so excited for his future and love this little big guy!❤️

My dogs love the time we get to spend on the farm. They love rolling in the mud and running through the fields and doing anything they can to get messy! I love my little herd of dirty farm pups but they sure clean up nice!!❤️😍

My lil Remi💗 This girl is my little bestie. She goes most places with me and loves one on one time. She loves the farm and has the instincts and wants to work cows even though she wasn’t trained for it😂 She’s obsessed with our little boy and loves to tease all the other puppies! She as such a big personality in such a little tiny body! We love lil mama Remi so much!💗

Okie girl!! Okie is my calm little independent girl. She loves doing her own thing but is such a good follower when we’re workin on the farm. She’s so quiet that sometimes I think she’s run off but she’s just in my blind spot😂 Love this little Okie and so glad she’s apart of our fam😘

My sweetest little Critter. I waited a long time to get a puppy like Critter. I waited for the perfect moment, perfect living situation, perfect breeder etc. It felt like forever and I never took the leap. I’m so grateful this opportunity fell into my lap and I got lucky to have found a reputable breeder that checked off all the things on my list in producing a quality dog to add to our family and program. Everything else just fell into place. So happy to have this sweet boy. He came to us right when I needed him most🧡
