We started breeding Golden Retrievers because of their loving and playful nature. They are so smart and just want to make you happy. They are people dogs and this is one breed that has a heart and soul. You can watch them reason and figure things out. They will make you laugh every day, no matter how bad of a day you are having. They will lower your blood pressure and help you live a longer, fuller life. They will be your very best friend!
Once we had our very first Golden (the first Angel) we knew we could not be without a Golden in our life. They give us so much more than we could ever give them. You definitely know what love is when you have a Golden by your side.
We wanted other people to experience this feeling and joy in their life. So we decided to breed and share this wonderful Golden fur ball with other people. What an awesome journey it has been, we just love meeting the people and getting to know them. People always ask “how do you let them go, they are so adorable?” I can tell you this, the joy and happiness that we get to see when people come to pick up their new puppy is so rewarding. Knowing that each puppy is going to a loving home where they will be cared for helps. And we also have a private page for our puppy family. Everyone who takes home a Young Ridge Golden puppy gets invited to join the “Puppy Family” page. On this page they share pictures, stories, ask advice of each other and we run little contests from time to time where they can win a gift card to a local pet store for toys or treats. Through this page we keep in touch with the families and the puppies. We pour our hearts into these puppies for eight weeks, we really do not want to put them into someones arm and watch them go away for good. On the page we get to see them grow up and watch them develop. We get to hear the stories about their silly antics and how much their new families love them. The families on there get to see the siblings from their litter grow and what they are doing. They ask each other questions and watch their puppy’s siblings go through the same things they are experiencing. It is a great place to be, so much fun!!
So we are a Golden Retriever breeder who has a small kennel/breeding business, with great big hearts for these beautiful dogs. We don’t have too many litters, I can only handle two litters at a time. They are born and raised in our sunroom until they are around five/six weeks old. Then we set up a big playpen for them in the finished garage that is right outside our bedroom door. They are never far away from us and within earshot at all times. They are our alarm clock in the morning and what a wonderful way to start each day, the love of a bunch of little fur balls. Who needs coffee? Well I do sometimes just to keep up with them all. We handle and love on these puppies each and every day. They are so sweet and lovable, I could spend my whole entire day just watching them and playing with them. It is hard to get anything done around here when there are puppies in the house. But then, if I am not playing with puppies, we have eight amazing Goldens to keep us laughing and playing each day. My heart melts every time I see my babies. They can't all be in house as we do not have enough room for them. I wish I did, they would be right here surrounding me and in my lap every day. We do not have the room so they are outside, we put up a big fenced in play area for them and they love it. It is so much fun to watch them prance and play around with each other. They do take turns coming inside to stay with us. Of course when we have puppies, it is just the mom’s that are inside, but we love having them come in and spend one on one time with them.
