UPDATE: we are closing the form for now so that we can go through them and start mapping out possible options and transportation routes! Please note if you listed that you are interested in adopting, you will still need to go through Medina County's adoption application process. Medina County will reach out to as many of you as possible!

We are still in need of assistance for our friends at Medina County SPCA, who have 480 rats remaining from a hoarding case. You read that right - almost FIVE HUNDRED rats. 😱

If you are interested in assisting in any way, including but not limited to helping transport rats to other rescues, fostering, and adopting, please take a moment to complete this very short and easy form!

It is going to take a LOT of help from the community to get it down to manageable numbers for the shelter. All hands on deck for this case, truly. We plan on taking in as many rats as we possibly can once we open up space, so if you are able to help transport them to us in late June, please specify so in the form.

We have decided to focus our energy on a few projects we’ve been working on for months now, and have also decided to open up a new part of our boycott lists. We will now be accepting submitted complaints from clients, other Ratteries and rodentries, and services in the community. Anyone who wishes to submit an application, we will be posting three separate application links! Also we will be opening a “mail” list for anyone who would like to receive updated versions of the lists! Since we’re not breeding anymore,we still want to support our community🖤

Our last update: everyone is gone and everything is as well. The water went up nearly to the ceiling, and the only survivors were my two curly hair tarantulas and my Asian forest scorpion-by some miracle. Our hearts are broken and I don’t know if or when we’ll recover.

This is probably the last post I will be making on this page for now, and possibly for good.
We had to emergency evacuate the other day due to flash flooding and the water rising so quickly we barely got out. I had to leave all of the rats, I left them with food,water,and power. We were able to get a ride back in but space was limited so we had to leave them again, with reupped supplies and our damage appeared to be limited to the floors. But as of this morning our house is either submerged or no longer where it was, so I’m expecting that everyone is gone. I fully expect to get hate for this and I hate myself immensely for not swimming through that water to get them and get them out, but if we hadn’t have left when we did we may be like several people around us that are being rescued by boat-or possibly even worse. We’ve lost everything this time and I don’t see us coming back from this, I’m still hoping like crazy that by some miracle our place is okay and so are they but it’s practically delusional at this point. I’m so very sorry to everyone who was wanting to adopt from us and I’m so sorry to my babies. My choices may not appear to relflect that- but I’m more upset at our loss of life than ANYTHING I owned being destroyed. Again my deepest apologies,please keep us in your thoughts. Also there are MANY people around the area that need help in every way due to the destruction of all this water, if you’re able and willing-please consider helping.

After a lot of thought and contemplation we have decided to close down permanently. With all of the issues in our personal life we simply can’t go any further as of right now and must close our doors. This is not a light or easy decision, but we have to do what’s best for our family. After all of our active litters are placed, we will no longer offer rats, and will not be breeding from now onwards. None of this was planned or foreseen, and we hope to return one day- but as of now that’s just not in the cards.

We’re going to speak on something-and try to keep it professional, but it’s gotten ridiculous so expect some harshness.
The childish behavior in this community really needs to go. I’ve gotten banned from a big group here inexplicably, and now they’re harassing people who recommend me so I’m going to set the record straight.
I do NOT breed rats of unknown origin and never will,and I give my rats the appropriate and BEST care I possibly can. I’m very small scale and my breeding colony is under 30- I put my everything into this.
When I was in danger of losing everything my husband and I owned- the first things I grabbed were my rats and my pets.
I do not band,chemically castrate,or otherwise ‘fix’ my animals at home or otherwise. I do not breed sick or aggressive animals and I do not send rats to ANYONE without being 100%confident in them and their genetics.
I do not profit from my rats. I haven’t even sold a rat since December, and have only sent a handful to sister ratteries.
I rigorously keep records on ALL of my animals and work to improve temperament and health- colorings and/or markings are tertiary at best.
The only private groups I’m involved with are shows,managing other ratteries’ bookkeeping (and my own), and a group for Texas breeders. I also maintain a block list of people I do not work with and why- which I feel my clients and partners deserve to see. If you make it on my list, it means I will not work with you or have anything to with you, so if I get kicked out of a group for it-fine.
So I implore anyone with any issues they’ve heard or otherwise have about me or my rattery- to speak to me on it and leave my clients out of it respectfully. Also remember that just because some of these ratteries are big and “popular” doesn’t mean that’s actually the case, always do research on your breeders.
