6 years ago, our family caught the Pomsky bug… we all wanted a dog and loved Huskies, but at that moment, we lived in a small home and felt it wasn’t fair to keep a Husky in such a tiny space.
So we started our search online for smaller Husky cross-breeds and that’s when we first stumbled upon the Pomsky breed.
Our first reaction was: is this even real?! They were so cute and small, it almost seemed fake at first! Having a miniature version of a Husky just seemed too good to be true.
We came to find out this is a real breed, and with great excitement we started the journey of looking for a breeder to get our very first Pomsky puppy.
Little did we know that we’d be in for a very daunting and stressful experience.
First, there weren’t very many breeders around at that time, but to make things even worse, those we did find, offered no photos or videos of the pups and parents, for us to be able to see if they were even legitimate breeders! They expected us to trust them blindly!
This process was so frustrating as we literally sent out emails to every breeder we could find.
Most of them never replied to our questions, and those that did wouldn’t provide any information. It took us an entire year of research to finally find a breeder that allowed us to come out and see the pups in person, but even then, we didn’t choose the pups we wanted - they made the choice for us.
